First off, I want to stress that the staff was amazing. From the reception team, porter, laundry workers, housekeeping and waitstaff, every single person was warm, friendly, helpful and eager to please. Even after we checked out we swung by and asked to use the restroom again, and they said, "our home is your home." Just so very wonderful. Overall, the property itself however, is dated and shows its age (think "1965" style?) Located right on the Nile, it is steps away from a felucca dock (hooray!), right on a small city park, and just a couple of blocks from one end of the old market. There's a small coffee shop next door and a couple of snack shops nearby as well. The downside to this central location, however, is the incessant (and I truly mean NON-STOP) street noise. Honking, shouting, laughing, music playing...you'll hear it. (There was a break from 12:30 am-1:45 am...if that's any solace?) But maybe that's the price you pay for being right on the Corniche. Suggestions they could work on? Breakfast was unremarkable (instant coffee, a container of yogurt, jelly packet, slab of cream cheese, two slices of lunch meat and a slice of an orange cheese) and there were no washcloths or floor towel/bath mat in the bathroom. However, our room had a lovely balcony that overlooked the park and the river and was a large size for our family of four (4 single beds). And again, the staff was MARVELOUS. They deserve 5 stars, and the hotel? Completely ok - except we were there to sleep - and its central location impacted that, unfortunately. Would I stay here again? No. Not unless I was on Ambien. Just too loud.
