Hampton Inn Athens

When I saw the note on their listing re: construction I was not concerned since I was spending just one night but this was a total understatement. When I entered the lobby it looked like I was entering a closed hotel. The entire first floor was striped to the concrete and studs with dust everywhere and insulation hanging from the walls. It was so bad I at first assumed I had entered the wrong door. Another customer was standing in the lobby and looked at me and said “can you believe this mess?” It was so late I had no choice but to check in and try to get some sleep. The next morning I woke up coughing and congested from all the construction dust so I immediately left. They also overcharged me for the night. I did contact the hotel and Hilton to let them know my disappointment but only got a note from the manager stating they needed to upgrade the hotel so there was no alternative. I still have no resolution on the overcharged amount.
