Great service location Go to cable car to Lycabettus hill beautiful panorama of city and Acropolis Free snacks around 5 Katherinia was 1st class and hotel rooms have Greek character Taxi cab driver John provided hospitality and history of acropolis. Plaka and parliament walking distance and gardens are wonderful. Very safe district for tourists.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at the Periscope. Well appointed, Complimentary snacks and soft drinks in lounge throughout the day very welcome. Welcoming and helpful reception staff. Great location - in heart of up-market Kolonaki area with numerous good restaurants a stone's throw away. Lycabettus (a must see) funicular train to summit is just 5 minutes away. Main ancient sites of Athens (Parthenon, Ancient Agora, etc) and the nightlife of Plaka are 20 to 30 minutes walk away. Be warned, however - the area of Kolonaki is located on the side of a very steep hill!!

There are features in this hotel I've either never seen before in other hotels or are treats available at only few hotels. The snacks they over nearly all day are really useful in a pinch when you're trying to wait until dinner to eat - organic crisps, fruit, water, cokes (diet and sugar), fresh cakes - everything is selected with care. The rooms are extremely comfortable - several pillows on the bed and the linens are cushy and comfy. The tv is made to be very easy to watch from the bed with several channels, although for Americans you'll have to choose from BBC, CNN or Al Jazeera - no entertainment television. Electronics shades and shutters on the windows allow for just the amount of sunlight and privacy you desire. There's a tablet for streaming that I didn't find very useful because it didn't have the basic US streaming channels for adults but it's a nice offering. Nice bath products and a nice sized shower. The bathroom is quite large for that region. They even have a scale so you can track your weight while you're enjoying the amazing food available and the beautiful indoor/outdoor cafes and restaurants in the area. This is just the most beautiful neighborhood in Athens - lovely to just walk around and actually quite nice shopping. Delis and places to buy fruit or cakes if you'd like, and just a half block from one of the best breakfast cafes in Athens: Queen Bee. I loved this hotel and am going to tell all of my friends to stay there. p.s. Anastasia goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcome and attended to. She was wonderful!

Pros Good neighborhood - quiet and felt safe Early check in offered Great air conditioning Clean Complimentary drinks/snack in afternoon Cons No welcome gift/acknowledgement for platinum membership Breakfast not included when booking on points ( would have been 20 EUR per person to add and totally not worth it) Rooms very small Bathroom has frosted glass only so wakes up partner if using in the night - and no sound proofing at all for using toilet Not enough hooks in bathroom for towels Really liked location but would def pick another Marriott property if we came again.

Incredibly wonderful. Reservation process easy, staff made dinner reservations, helped with transportation, endlessly cordial and capable, room well appointed and perfectly quiet, on a quiet, residential, safe street, countless neighborhood restaurants to walk to, nice upscale boutique shops, short walk to National Garden, various museums, Lykavettos Hill for a great walk and view, very nice included breakfast selection. We had a private tour pickup at the door for a great day of seeing the high points of Athens. Cannot say enough about the charming and helpful staff.

Room 105 is small. The only small window you can open is in the bathroom and lets in an awful noise coming from the courtyard. The view from the bedroom is depressing. AC was working full blast, at its own will during the night. Breakfast is a joke. Bread, cheese pie and croissants are old. Filtered coffee is cold at 10AM. No choice of eggs... only boiled eggs. Yogourt from the supermarket and an offer of 5 small slices of cheese and ham... Chairs and tables are uncomfortable. They look nice though.

Great hotel in Kolonaki. 1-block from main ***** and 10 minute walk to shopping districts around Syntagma Square. Rooms were comfortable, with modern iPad to communicate requests with the hotel. Bed was comfortable (we were able to order foam core pillows for better support). Bathroom was spacious, shower was modern, temperature and water pressure great. Breakfast spread was nice. And they had snacks laid out you could grab throughout the day. No gym on site but they did have one at their sister properly, NEW hotel, which was about a 15 min walk past Syntagma square. That is the nicer hotel - gym was in the basement but had all the essentials. (Treadmill. Weights, machines) Front desk was super friendly and communicative - gave us nice recommendations. Would stay here again next time - pretty great value for 200 euros per night.

This is a small, boutique hotel ideally located in a cool and central district in Athens (Kolonaki). And the staff are really great. On the downside: 1) they practically do not serve breakfast, which is a joke, 2) they are loosely associated with the Marriott franchise - a concept that does not work from a customer perspective and 3) furnishing could be refreshed here and there. That said, it is good value, offers a pleasant experience, and shines like a star when compared to the 2 other Marriott Design hotels I recently stayed in, in Athens.

This is truly a hidden gem in Athens! It’s not too far of a walk from main attractions, and truly an incredible hotel! I wasn’t sure about it when I booked having never been to Athens and didn’t know the neighborhoods but this is in “upscale” Kolonaki, and an incredible bang for the buck! Renovated rooms and bathrooms were great. The part that put this hotel over the top though was the hospitality. Nelli at the front desk was absolutely incredible! Greeted us at the door when our cab dropped us off and gave us so many great local recommendations around the area. She inquired with us nightly about how our stay was and what activities we did that day. She truly made us feel like family, as did most of the Greeks we encountered. Mpirmpilo restaurant is a MUST if you stay at this hotel. It’s a half block over, half block down. This is an incredible hotel and we will stay again if we’re ever in Athens. Thank you Nelli for all you did for us if you see this!
