Reviews of Nefeli Hotel

We love the Nefeli Hotel. We have stayed there consistently over the last 20 years. It is small, economical, family run and located in the Plaka, a great neighborhood. The rooms are clean, simply decorated, each with a private bathroom. The staff are professional, friendly and helpful. It’s a wonderful old style Athenian hotel. 

We stayed for 4 days: The location (Plaka) was perfect, the staff very friendly, the rooms were modest and very quiet at night; and the breakfast was plentiful. A great place to stay because it's within walking distance of every must-see attraction.

The location of the hotel is very close to the center. Walking distance to everywhere. The hotel is old but the interior is very well maintained. The room is clean, towels and sheets have been changed recently. The air conditioning and hot water in the room were very good. Breakfast was sufficient. We arrived early and they allowed us to leave our luggage at the reception. The staff is friendly. We recommend it to those who will go.

The shower was very small, it was uncomfortable.

City trip Athens. Simple hotel, but very centrally located, a short walk from all sights and in the middle of pleasant Plaka. Simple, but good breakfast. Staff very helpful. Excellent price / quality ratio. Definitely recommended

Great hotel in the heart of Athens. Close to the metro and very close to attractions. Souvenirs, cafes, silence, noise... close to everything. Ideally located. The rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast is quite in the spirit of the times - minimal, but there. There is a supermarket nearby

Excelente servicio, muy buena ubicación, cama muy cómoda, buena la habitación, desayuno repetitivo pero buena cantidad, lo único regular el baño por el olor, pero se cierra la puerta y listo...muy bien !!

The hotel's location in the Plakka neighborhood is awesome! The Acropolis, Arch of Hadrian & Syntagma Square are easily reached by foot. It's also close to the bus stop of x95, the express bus to ATH. Lots of tavernas and bars in the neighborhood make it so convenient. Our go to guys were Giannis & George. Both so pleasant to deal with and offered lots of advice where to go. The kitchen staff was so gracious serving breakfast which was more than adequate. Authentic local cheeses, marmalades, pastries & even olives comprised the meal. We were quite surprised that breakfast offered a lot of stuff to choose from. We found our room to be adequate in size, quiet & had a good A/C for the late spring heat in Athens. Had an issue with the bathroom, namely; a short shower curtain that gets the bathroom floor wet. The beds were clean and the linen supply pretty good. The dining area can use a better A/C esp. after 9:00 in the morning when it can get really warm.

This hotel is located on a peaceful street in Plaka, an area with many good restaurants that is walking distance from many of the sites worth seeing in Athens. I have stayed in more costly hotels, but nowhere have I ever encountered a kinder, more helpful staff than at the Nefeli. They clean the rooms impeccably, serve a good breakfast, and offer all kinds of assistance to guests, calling taxis if a guest needs one, providing maps of the area, and answering questions of all kinds about where you can find things you may need during your trip. This hotel can't be beat for a good travel experience!

The room didn't look like the pictures. It was very tiny and dirty, and the bathroom was old and not well taken care of. After taking a shower, the very small bathroom was full of water. The shower curtain was wrongly placed. Standing in front of the mirror with your feet in the water is very unpleasant. The old man who served breakfast was very moody. Not at all friendly. Tired of his job, I think. From the window, we looked at a completely dilapidated house and the garbage bins.

The room is comfy and clean. The location is very good. 😊 Within walking distance to the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, Plaka District, Anafiotika, Syntagma Square and two metro stations (Syntagma and Acropolis metro stations). The centre of everything and the price per night is value for money. Breakfast was simple but they have the best Greek olives we had during the trip. Not so salty. Just perfect with toasted bread and butter. Will stay again if we visit Athens next time.

A 3 night stay and this was perfect. Close to all that Plaka offers, with lots of bars & tavernas. The hotel is in a quiet street and has a 24/24 desk. The rooms are simple and clean. Breakfast is simple and ample, with breads, fruits and yoghurt. Would definitely return.
