Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel

We have stayed here for years for an annual conference at Georgia Tech and this year was terrible. The biggest issue was that we parked 1 day, @ $45/per day because we got in late and moved the car to the G-Tech garage for $25/day. When we left there was a line at the check in/out kiosk so I checked out on the mobile app. When we got home and looked at the bill they charged us for 2 more nights. $90! We immediately called and was told that they would contact accounting, give them 7 – 10 days to adjust. Did Not Happen. Called again after 11 days and got the same line. No one ever contacted us. So we are out $90 and paid another $50 for the other parking. I am Lifetime Titanium, so good luck to others who have no status. VERY disappointing. Pros: • Location • Some staff members • Room layout/upgrade Cons: • We understand the new cleaning rules and are okay with it BUT when you don’t get the towels you requested, they NEVER emptied the garbage, as requested, and basically didn’t listen to the few requests we had, like wanting more toilet paper. • Complimentary breakfast one day because the restaurant was closed was terrible. • Restaurant breakfast, that reopened, which used to be really good, was not and we only went one time, even though I get it for free. We will be staying at the Georgia Tech hotel as we attend the conference in the future.

Almost always leave 5/5 for Hyatt properties but this was disappointing, especially as a globalist. We arrived around 1 am and had to stand out in the chilly weather for a solid 5 minutes before anyone would let us in. Upon checking in, I wasn’t greeted as a globalist, offered water, offered breakfast directions, or given any other direction on the property. When I asked about the self parking the gentleman simply said yes there’s self parking and didn’t give any direction. Our key card didn’t work for the parking garage so we had to print a ticket. When we tried to get our car out, we got stuck on the top level of the garage reserved for the hotel because again the key card wouldn’t work. We had to sit and wait 15 minutes for an employee to open the gate. And of course we couldn’t open the gate at the exit either and had to wait again. We decided to do valet to avoid this disaster again. When we checked in there were no luggage carts and we had to wait 15 minutes for them to track one down. During our stay, I texted the phone number asking for a few items and they only brought about half of what I asked for. Didn’t bother asking again because i kept getting let down by the service. When we checked out, the lady working was extremely nice and the best person we had. When I asked for our water for the day, they somehow didn’t have any water to give. How are you out of water when one of hyatts perks is literally bottled water? When we checked out there wasn’t a valet person working so we had to get our own car. What’s the point of valet if you have to get your own car? I’m usually treated very well at hyatts and have stayed at the centric brand in Denver and have only had great experiences. This was a major letdown.

Catch the hottest two days to arrive in Atlanta, cool to burst! Hotel location is not bad, not far from where to go, the surrounding is safer. The air conditioner is the kind of window machine, the sound is loud, and the cooling effect is very good.

This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had and we only stopped here for one night on the way home to TN from the beach. At first we only noticed the weird black stain on the wall, which was really not worth complaining about. Then we noticed BOTH of the phones in the rooms didn’t work. Fine, we’ll use our cellphone to call and ask where to get ice. Went to bed early and the real disaster was in the morning when I woke up with bed bug bites on my arm and then found a hair in the sink that most certainly does not belong to us. Then, I opened up the shower curtain to find an absolutely filthy shower with hairs stuck to the wall. We also found a bud of ********* on the brown/green carpet (yes, it was a family vacation), so we know they don’t vacuum. We left the clothes we wore that night in the trash. We were told Management would call us and they haven’t bothered. It really doesn’t get much worse than this.

Everytime I stay here it exceeds my expectation from the previous time. Angela at front desk was so welcoming, professional and courteous that right at first place we felt at home. There were some low water pressure issue but we know that had we reported, they would have taken care of it immediately. Breakfast sandwiches and Omelets were delicious and there were other choices too for breakfast. Best location and everything at walking distance from this location. You don't even need the car if you don't mind riding train from Airport to the midtown Marta station, hotel is right next to it. Georgia Tech is only few blocks away but you can ride the free Buzz ride too. Thanks Hilton, thanks Angela for making our stay so wonderful!!
