The Machan

We stayed in Canopy, where you wake up to a breathtaking view of Sunrise. The place really takes you out of the hustle bustle ~ no TV, no phone calls ( as there is hardly any signal, not even Jio). All of this, perfectly blends with an open air dining and breakfast at Burrows.

The Rooms were awesome……… enjoyed a lot …… staff is were good…….. breakfast was awesome……. Had an Amazing experience…….one should really visit here with their family…….I even drew the Machan Logo and gifted them as a token of appreciation

Stay was nothing short of dream come true . Enjoying the tranquility of nature without compromising on luxury ..one feels pampered and in another world.stargazing from room was another experience . The property is a esthetically done .loved the dinner settings,bo fire and the food . Must for nature lovers .

The Machan is about 10kms away from main Lonavala and it's a sprawling 25 acres property with different types of Machans spread across the property. The views from the Machan are awesome and the ambience of being within nature is something else. Can't really complain about the service or the food There also ***y activities to take part in. We had gone for the nature trail and were surprised by some of the facts about the local flora, of which there is an abundance of species There is also the option to have a private bonfire under the starry sky which is pretty magical It also doesn't get hot in the Machans even during the summer months due to the heavy foliage Special mention to Saibal who helped us with the reservation, and Ganesh who helped setup the bonfire for us and ensured we were served promptly during all the dining experiences

i Ma’am, I stayed with my wife and my parents at Forrest Machan 5 and wanted to share feedback that was purely my personal experience. 1. At the time of booking (through the contact on your website), I was told the room will have valley views (also mentioned in your brochure), however we were given a room with no valley view, only the view of stairs. When I mentioned this to the reception, their solution was that we enjoy the place by paying for a bonfire. This felt more like a tactic to get customer billing to go up and not really empathetic towards customers. 2. While I understand the resort is a place to relax and not worry, the first thing we were told in orientation was that check out time is 11 and every half an hour delay will cost us 1500. While I understand how important checking out on time is, this communication felt very cheap and off brand especially when coming to a luxury resort. We saw very similar communication everywhere, for example, in the room we were told that 4 RO wanted bottles will be provided and if we buy water it would cost 300. It’s no about the money, but always sharing penalty clauses as the first thing with customers who are looking for a relaxing retreat is not right. Our whole day, my parents who are old and a bit late risers were just worried that if they do not checkout by 11 they would be penalised and this was no relaxation for us. 3. The room did not have hand towels. The bathing towels were all placed in bottom room (we had two bathrooms). There were no dental kits and when asked we were only given one (we were 4 people in two bed acco). 4. The bathroom tiles had moss growing and were blackened. This can easily be cleaned if done well but was left. 5. The food was lovely. We quite enjoyed the dining setting at night and also the quality of food. All in all, other than the food, the experience we had was belo sub par and not what we thought would be for a retreat. Starting from the entry gate where the watch*** refused to let us in as he didn’t have our details to us being allotted rooms with dead view, to the overall money making schemes put in place, it felt more of a tourist trap and nothing close to a retreat. We were very excited to get our parents to experience a retreat but this was not that. I am not complaining against any one person as the people in general were actually quite warm, but the overall lack of empathy, lack of customer exp and lack of hospitality was a complete put off.

It was EVERYTHING I’d hoped it would be. The establishment is completely immersed in nature. For those who have phobias of bugs or animals unique to the forests of Lonavala and the like, this wouldn’t be a place for you - so you’ve been warned. It’s a place to escape the hustle and bustle, switch off and shut off from the rest of the world, and be at peace with the natural beauty which the treehouses have been so intelligently nestled in. Waking up to a beautiful sunrise and enjoying a glass of wine while on the balcony while the sun set was almost surreal. The amenities were as clean as they could be and the staff at the Machan made absolutely sure that we were comfortable - always greeting us and smiling as we walked around the grounds. The breakfast spread was more than substantial. My partner has allergies but was able to indulge in most of the food and he enjoyed every meal! We stayed in the starlight Machan and the view of the stars at night when you open the canopy was breathtaking. Thank you so much for the stay.

Awesome time. I celebrate my husband birthday. Team is so supportive and helpful. Food is also too good. Staff is very cooperative and friendly. There is some activities as well you can enjoy. The concept of Machan is connect with nature so you don't have mobile network this thing was really nice You can spend your time in nature and with your love ones.

It's a great experience with soothing view , relaxing and comforting stay. A place must visit in the midst of jungle with away from call reception which gives you a feeling of relaxed digital detox experience. Great food and good staff adds to the experience. Thank you to Machan staff - Subham, Patil, Sohan for this wonderful experience. Will definitely visit again.
