Warwick Gardens was one of the highlights of our holiday to Sri Lanka. We spent a day at Horton Plains and the following day just relaxing in the garden enjoying the views and listening to the birds sing. The chef yoga prepared tasty meals and we especially enjoyed high tea served to us in the garden. Ruba, completely made the trip for us ,absolutely nothing was too much trouble he even took us on a stroll around his village. Thank you so much.

Regi, Meena ma and Jani made us so welcome at this lovely house, so much so we felt like it was our own home for the couple of nights we were there. Nothing was too much trouble and the gardens and views were spectacular. Would love to return someday

This is a unique property in a location with utmost tranquility and serenity giving you the best hint of hill-side experience. The master bedroom was in its best quality with good facilities. The staff was so friendly and made our stay comfortable throughout.Food was served at our convenience, fresh and warm.Loved their dairy products and specially the home made jam!!While the path to reach the bunglow was some-what adventurous,I would say this was home away from home!!

During our 3-weeks in Sri Lanka we had the pleasure of staying in several exceptional Jetwing properties. Sadly this wasn't one of them. While many previous reviews mention the poor road access, few accentuate how dangerous it is, especially in rainy weather. It even raised our very experienced driver's eyebrow. That was only the first impression. This is a small bed & breakfast guest-style hotel, with a handful of rooms. There was only one other set of guests when we arrived, and both of us decided to cut our stays short. While the setting and views are absolutely beautiful once you arrive, the rooms are small, dark, and musty. Dinner menu is set and very limited, with very bland, mediocre food. Given other tea plantation country options, the setting alone is not worth the hassle getting there.

Nestled in the hills between two provinces this building of colonial splendor awaits to give its visitors a holiday to be remembered. Still maintained in its original state with fire places and antique furniture it brings back vivid memories of yesteryear. A well trained and a courtious staff awaits to pamper all your needs. The choice of food was excellent and well prepared. The high of the stay was a visit to their tea factory right next door, where they prepare a hand crafted Artesan tea from their own tea gardens, for the exclusive consumption of the guests to the hotel. In short it could be called a experience of a lifetime, which should not be missed and worth the distance.

Having been highly recommended by my travel agent, I was looking forward to my stay. My first comment would be, do not send anyone with the slightest disability here. The access is utterly appalling: the road so bumpy it verges on dangerous. Then there are several difficult steps to negotiate. There are more stairs to the rooms. The one ground floor is adjacent to the reception area and close to the kitchen. It is therefore noisy. No tea/coffee making facility: no safe: no TV (the latter did not bother me, but it may do for future guests). Bathroom is basic and there wasn't a plug jn the wash basin. The toilet did not have the standard "sterilised' tape around it and the shower is slow. Towels poor quality. The food was a disappointment and service incredibly slow. Having said all that, the staff are charming, if a little over-attentive. The gardens are magnificent. Would I return? No. Jetwing need to up their game here.

As the pictures on here show this is a handsome ex tea-planter's house, tastefully furnished in the style of the period, situated very high in the tea estates with lovely gardens (given the height, reminiscient of somewhere like Exmoor) . So, what's not to like? The answer is everything thing bar the above. This property is all style over substance, mutton dressed up as lamb: as a hotel it fails dismally and we really wish we had not gone there. Why? 1. Access. There are numerous comments on here about the awful state of the access road. I think they are referring to the 'normal' road that comes UP to the hotel which, although awful, is normally passable by ordinary cars with great care. Our driver was informed by the hotel that this route was blocked (landslip) and to use the road that comes DOWN to the hotel. When we got there he was advised that this too was not passable. The hotel said it would send 2 tuk-tuks to collect us. So we waited for some time in his car in hammering rain before decanting into 2 tuk-tuks. There is no doubt that the 'road' was impassable for ordinary cars. No question as to whether our driver should have attempted it - he could have written off his car and our holiday. The driver of the other 3 people staying at the hotel had not had this advice and lost a bumper on the way down, and on the way up the passengers had to get out and push! They are lucky not to have broken their sump, or an axle because the track made the most rutted cart track you can imagine seem like the M1 - and with a precipitous drop on one side which was crumbly and with rain pouring off it. That 1km seemed like the longest journey I have taken. We were bounced everywhere - very hard - in the tuk-tuk. We were overtaken by a motor cycle at little more than walking pace (we were obviously doing less) and as we rounded a bend came across the motor cycle sprawled across the track on its side with the driver and passenger picking themselves up and examining injuries. My travelling companion, who has a very bad hip, could barely walk afterwards and her nerves were shot to bits. Although she could barely walk she was thinking that, when we escaped, it might be less awful to try to walk back rather than get into a tuk-tuk to retrace that journey. It was that bad. 2. Food Style over substance. The worst food we had in Sri Lanka. Whereas most restaurants in Sri Lanka serve obscenely large portions this hotel tries (and fails) to do 'nouvelle cuisine'. For dinner the starter - more an 'amuse bouche' a single bite - was a delicious small somosa or similar. If only the rest was a large portion of that. Then watery soup with bits of grey grisly beef, barely edible, The main course was fish, similar texture to tuna, cut thin and overcooked so it was dry, chewy and inedible. It was topped by 4 nice prawns. Why doesn't the kitchen remove the heads and the gills ('feet')? By the time we had tackled them, and then asked for, and event
