We stayed from December 29, 2025, to January 14, 2026. I'd like to immediately commend the friendly staff at Evergreen Apartments, especially the lovely Jacqueline, who is always available to help not only with everyday matters but also with information on where things are on Mahé and the islands, directions, and convenient access, and helps book taxis and airport transfers. The apartments (there are only four in the building) are very cozy and have everything you need: a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary utensils, a gas stove, microwave, refrigerator, steamer, toaster, kettle, and more. They clean very well, every day except Sunday. There's a comfortable balcony with a table for dining and a view of the garden towards the ocean. There's no direct sun on the balcony until about 1:00 PM, which is great, as it gets a bit hot there after that. However, the room is air-conditioned. The apartment is located in a well-kept garden with lots of beautiful plants and colorful birds. Fruit is delivered to the room almost daily. The garden features turtle enclosures, a children's playground, and a small but warm and clean pool. Two barbecue areas can be set up for guests upon request, including a firebox and charcoal. Guest parking is available on site. The apartments are located just above the ocean, which is a plus. There were a lot of complaints in chats about mosquitoes in the evening, but we experienced virtually none. The beach is a 15-minute walk away, along a winding road. The nearest beach, Anse La Mouche, is secluded and clean, with very few people, beautiful sunsets, and views. The seabed is gently sloping, sandy, and free of rocks and reefs, with no big waves. If you're feeling adventurous, you can turn right to Port Glaud Beach (there's a beautiful reef, fish, and snorkeling) or left to Takamaka Beach (very beautiful and picturesque). Across the island is one of the best beaches, Anse Royale, with clear, calm waters and a bay for yachts. Of course, it's best to rent a car on Mahé to see as many beaches and other beautiful sights as possible. However, you can also get around by bus; there are many routes, and there's an app with a schedule and map (you can ask helpful Jacqueline for a pass). For excursions, we recommend the island-hopping catamaran trips with Mason's Travel. There's also a "Reef Safari" to the nearby islands, complete with swimming, snorkeling, a transfer to a boat with underwater windows, and a visit to a turtle park. A great trip to two islands at once: La Digue and Praslin, with excursions, visits to the most stunning beaches, and a palm park (home to the Coco de Mer, the symbol of the Seychelles). Both trips include roundtrip hotel transfers, delicious lunches, and more, which is very convenient. Our Russian-speaking guide, Oksana, explains everything very interestingly and entertainingly. In general, the Seychelles are very welcoming and helpful! At the first opportunity, everyone tries to help, offer advice, and give us a ride, either free of charge or for a nominal fee. The island is safe; there wasn't a single unpleasant incident during the entire trip. The Seychelles is a paradise to which we will definitely return!
