We stayed for four nights. The first two nights were exactly what we hoped for—relaxing, beautiful, and the staff were extremely polite and hardworking. We would easily give the hotel a 5/5 score based on the beginning of our stay.
However, the final two nights were truly awful, which severely impacted our experience.
Noise Issues & Management Response:
The quiet retreat atmosphere was ruined by a high level of noise from the room next door, which shared an internal connecting door that did not block sound. The noise was not primarily from the newborn baby, but from the parents, who were shouting, singing loudly, and arguing (shouting) late into the night (from 9 PM until past 1 AM on the first night).
We complained twice on the first night but received no intervention, room change, or resolution, and the noise continued. The second night, we gave up complaining, as it was our final night. I documented the extreme noise levels and can provide evidence to management if contacted.
Serious Food Safety Concern:
We also suspect we suffered from food poisoning from the hotel breakfast on our second day. We believe the cause was undercooked eggs, specifically the raw egg whites served on top. Both of us suffered from severe stomach illness for the remainder of our stay until we completely stopped eating food provided by the hotel. This is a very serious concern for any establishment, particularly one marketed as a relaxing retreat.
Conclusion:
While the staff were very polite, the failure to address a serious noise issue after two complaints, combined with the suspected food poisoning, makes it impossible to recommend this hotel fully. The management's lack of action and the poor soundproofing are major issues that need immediate attention.

Location is their biggest disadvantage - Villa is deep inside from main road and very dark, not easy for drivers to find. Besides that everything was great. I must compliment on the receptionist (Ulia - hope I spelt her name right) who has been warm, friendly and resourceful. Other staff - receptionist and even night security were very welcoming and friendly, always smiling too. Thanks to them I’ve a wonderful stay.

Nice place to stay, but the location is a little bit far from Ubud center. So you need to rent car or motorbike for the convenience. In front of the hotel there is nice cafe where you can have great coffee and pastry for breakfast.

Overall I liked the hotel, but there were some nuances. Firstly, for some reason we were accommodated on the first floor, although the 2nd or 3rd floor was indicated on the website, but this was not important for us, and we did not ask to change the room. Secondly, the main disappointment was the bathroom, where the sink leaked. When we were just checking in, we already saw a puddle, we asked to fix it, the staff simply put a rag under the place where the water was leaking. And for several days the water did not bother us. But after one of the cleanings it was removed, and the problem reappeared.
The room is a little tired, it feels like the bed linen has never been changed in 10 days. And until September there is construction going on opposite the hotel, so you can sleep in silence until 8 am.
But I liked the atmosphere of the hotel, we went for a Balinese massage, everything was great too. A minute's walk away is RÜSTERS, we went there several times for dinner, and you can also have a nice time there.

It is suitable for experiencing the feeling of the countryside. You can see the entire terraced fields by opening the window.

Review of a 5 night stay at this great little resort. The Wadari Retreat is situated south of Ubud, amongst the rice fields, in a rural location. By taxi, is it advertised as being about a 30-minute car journey to the centre of Ubud. In our experience, due to the congestion and chaotic traffic systems, the journey both to and from Ubud, frequently took about an hour to complete - so this should be factored in. The hotel runs a shuttle service, but we often opted to walk or use taxis so cannot pass comment on this. The resort looks amazing. It’s certainly picturesque. On arrival we were left stunned. Lots of bamboo and traditional features and the view of the rice fields, especially at sun rise is certainly memorable. We were escorted to our villa by staff, and the walk down was awesome. We were lost for words walking through foliage and smelling the flora. Really exotic, memorable, and exciting. At night, you can hear the frogs and see bats amounts the rice. So you certainly feel right in the thick of nature on this stunning island. Our room, on first impression, was a complete show stopper. We had a Jungle Forest, tree top villa. This is an upgrade from the standard rooms, and are situated just a short walk away from the main hotel. You walk down a small path amongst the bamboo and vegetation. It FEELS like an adventure and you are certainly rewarded at the end. It feels incredibly VIP and if staying here I urge that you make this upgrade for the best experience. These rooftop villas have balconies that extend out and offer amazing views of the forest. Breakfast is not normally included, unless pre-purchased prior to booking. However, due to our original hotel cancelling our booking last-minute, we were moved to the Wadari (a sister hotel) and were provided free breakfast for the duration of our stay. A lovely gesture, but one we only used twice out of convenience. This is mostly because breakfast felt like a simple affair. We’ve stayed at several hotels on our travels in Bali, and the food at the Wadari has felt like the least authentic so far. We opted to eat out in Ubud and several bakeries in the area. Staff, as we’ve now come to realise in Bali, have been exceptional. So friendly and welcoming. Faultless. Bed was very comfy, if a little hot, but there is air-conditioning, which is quiet. We did find that we were waking up early most days, the curtains leak a lot of light so we would wake with the sun at about 6am. Fine for us, but for a lie in, maybe a bit of an issue. Wi-Fi is included and generally worked well. But would drop off at regular intervals. We were not here for the internet so only a minor inconvenience. But there are a couple of issues that need to be factored in. Taxis. For the first three days of our stay, Grab (a local taxi app), allowed for immediate pick up and drop off at the reception. This suddenly disappeared from the app and when queried, we’re informed this was done on request. It means the ne

We enjoyed our stay here. About 35 minutes from Ubud central, this feels quiet and tucked away. We had a villa with it's own pool. The four-poster bed was large and comfortable, the place was pretty clean, the garden is glorious. Water pressure in the shower is very low. The bathroom has a partially open roof. If someone in the yoga centre above it cared to lean on the balcony and take a look, they would see a resident showering/toileting with no trouble at all. Fortunately no body seemed to be using that space so it was not a problem. Free breakfasts were great, with a good selection on offer. We ate quite a few meals here, all good value. There is a different complex at the top of the drive called Rusters. Great for a visit with a lovely bakery, bar and restaurant. This option combined with the on-site cafe means you don't have to go as far as the road to have all your food needs catered for. The spa is pretty basic, I had three massages. The reflexology was great. Some fresh flowers, relaxing music and a little attention to detail would be good. Staff are delightful, very attentive and helpful. Ade is outstanding, and had great English language skills. We felt that the staff are a real asset to the hotel

Loved my stay at Wadari Retreat Villa Ubud! Such a nice and clean place - they cleaned the room and changed towels every day, and even provided water daily. The villa has a beautiful style and it’s in a great location, close to my favorite breakfast spot in Ubud. Only thing to note: there’s no elevator, but honestly everything else made up for it. I’d totally stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel for 10 nights. From checking in until we checked out, we were greeted with a smile and welcome from the most friendly staff team. The hotel itself is really lovely. A great view of the rice fields. The suite we stayed in was very spacious and nicely decorated. The bed and pillows were good quality and comfortable. The only minor issue with the room was the sliding doors didn’t close 100%, the minor gap resulted being able to hear the noise of people in the pool just outside the door. The housekeeping team are also very efficient and thorough, they kept the room immaculate daily. Food was really good, we had breakfast most mornings and dinner one night. The older male chef made really delicious food. There is also a fabulous cafe nearby serving amazing pastries and coffees. The location at first didn’t impress us however after a day , we really enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud centre. The massage services in the hotel are fantastic, the masseuses gave amazing Balinese massages at a very affordable price. The value for money overall with this hotel is quite exceptional.

A hotel in no man's land 1. A bit difficult to locate the place. Access is not through a proper road. 2. Nothing around in a 1km radius. 3. Not great front and back view. They apparently had rice fields but due to water shortage, they no longer exist 4. Rooms are clean, big and spacious but the advisory is to rely on bottled water for drinking only 5. Lizard in rooms 6. Kitchen had lizard loittering and one of the main reasons we did not consume food there 7. There is a mart in a 1km distance from where we got burgers and other eats

Beautiful retreat with AMAZING staff. They could not help us enough. Kind and courteous all the time. The room we were in was very nice. Could do with a little love, decor wise, but was super clean and comfortable. The pool is wonderful and inviting and love the sunbeds in the water!!!! Food is outstanding here, nothing disappoints.
