With sacred Mount Agung as its backdrop and unimpeded views of the Lombok Strait Amankila enjoys a breathtaking hilltop spot in the historic Karangasem Regency on Balis east coast. References to Balinese culture abound - in the motifs inspired by the water palace at nearby Ujung in the paras stone decorating the stilted and thatched suites and in the spectacular infinity pool that cascades in three tiers down the hillside reminiscent of a rice paddy. Stretching from hilltop to private beach the property lies within reach of atmospheric temples and artisan villages.
Raised on stilts and thatched with alang-alang Amankilas 31 suites - nine with private pools - enjoy ocean or garden views and consummate privacy. Decorated with inlaid pearl and coconut-shell furniture all suites feature canopied kingsize beds a living area large bathroom with a soaking tub and an outdoor terrace.
In addition to Amankilas main dining venues guests can enjoy daily afternoon tea on the steps of the library. Staff in traditional dress supply guests with Indonesian ginger tea Bali kopi and cakes.
The Spas traditional Balinese baths scrubs and wraps are complemented by open-air treatments among the palms.
Amankilas secluded beaches are perfect for romantic dining while the three-tiered pool is a focal point for larger gatherings.

Yes, it is indeed relatively mountainous and remote.
So the advantage is that there are fewer tourists than in the seaside area. It is suitable for people who want to be quiet and close to nature for healing. Currently, there are very few Asian tourists and many Europeans.
The room is very comfortable, but there are inevitably a lot of ants and insects when staying in a villa, which is normal. The catering, especially the breakfast, is not the usual format of a big hotel. It is an a la carte and exquisite form. The main front desk service can meet the needs even if they are needed. It exceeds expectations and is pleasant!
When you walk out of the hotel, there are actually many cafes and restaurants outside that are very comfortable and offer massages, etc. . . . Summarize
It is highly recommended for those who really want to rest! If you want to be crazy and lively, go to Kuta!

The perfect escape one can dive into to detox from the hustle and bustle of city life! The owners were amazingly helpful especially in attending to my every need. They were a great help in sharing the various places of interest available for me to venture to. Their warm welcome was quite the highlight of my time spent on Nusa Lembongan. The villa itself was well kept and very strategically located. It us quite literally a stone's throw away from Dream Beach! And I have the option of taking a dip in the pool should the sea appear too daunting for a swim. Definitely going back soon!

Bernie and I stayed at Akah Cottages for just under a week and were pleasantly surprised by the high level of hospitality and customer service provided by the owner and her staff. The rooms were beautifully maintained and demonstrated a love for the property itself. We had dinner one night at the restaurant and the home-cooked meals were authentic and delicious. After staying at supposed '5-star' accommodation back in Bali, these ritzy hotels didn't come close to Akah in terms of true attention to detail, care and customer service. Our host was lovely and we will definitely be coming back. Thanks for taking such good care of us! Olivia & Bernie

We were booked here for 3 nights but checked out after 1 night. I think this accommodation could be perfect for someone that would like just a bed with a gorgeous view. Based on our experience the room walls and windows inside are not cleaned regularly so the there are stained finger print marks everywhere making the whole space feel dirty. There are floor mats provided but these are filthy too (brown and worn). The shower did not work and there were bugs everywhere on the bathroom. Pool is nice and the hotel is quiet as there are hardly any rooms but for us we felt this meant the place lacked atmosphere and you had to whisper wherever you went. The pool bar only stocks beer and soft drinks and limited food options. So the sunset is great from here but no cocktail to accompany the view. We are gutted as we were extremely excited by this hotel but it was not what we expected at all. The hotel has given us a refund for the 2 nights we are now not staying and we are now around in the corner in D'Coin Lembongan for a lot less money, better facilities, much better and friendlier service and the room is gorgeous.

I was a very first guest of Cicada Ubud, an Autograph Collection by Marriott Bali Ubud and I came here for the staycation on August 22, 2024. First, from the arrival side review, the review result was excellent and beyond expectation, i was warm welcomed and greet by the General Manager Ibu Reka from the main door of the lobby hotel, this was making me so special, valued and having so memorable arrival experience with Autograph Brand, especially with Cicada Ubud. Also a huge thanks to Ophan, Kartika, and Ina from the front office and guest service, the check in process was so excellent and flawless. I also enjoyed my welcome drink made from a refreshing butterfly pea , its very refreshing, warm and pampering welcome experience of Cicada Ubud. This is a hidden gem for a serene hideaway for a couple traveller. Truly a huge and tremendous guest recognition also coming from Gus Ari, Kris, Ratna, Agus Wira, Angga Permana, Chacha, Candri, Anie, Dewi, Ace, Yumi, Satra Yana and all front office team during the arrival. Then, from the bed room and bathroom side review, the review was also excellent. I love the idea of the bed room and bath room which made us unite with the serene of nature. A tremendous and huge thanks also for our welcome amenity in our room villa, i love the magnificent and wide panoramic view in our room villa. The bathroom and bed room cleanliness also exceed expectation, as the bed was so fresh and clean and the bathroom also clean and spacious. In terms of space, the bedroom villa was so spacious and so fresh, i can easily enjoy the fresh and clean air of Ubud and still the bed room was so clean and fresh, thanks to exceeded services from the Housekeeping team and Wayan Candriani as well. Definitely an intimate serene hideaway retreat for a couple traveller. Also from the food and beverage side review, the review was also excellent. I love my time when having a meal and peaceful retreat at Verdant Restaurant and Tangelo Restaurant. A huge and tremendous thanks to Suta, Novy, Dony and Tria , as she serve me as a family, as a very closed family, and this is an asset for the hotel, they serve from the heart, and they serve me like their family. From the food quality and food taste side review, the review result was also excellent, Autograph Hotel is a premium brand, but Cicada, Autograph Collection Ubud put a great value of the food taste and quality as same equal with a luxury brand level, a tremendous and huge special thanks to Chef Buda, Dewa Putu, Elma and Putu Rama the Bartender at Tangelo Restaurant who always bring the quality and food level of Cicada Autograph Collection Ubud in to Luxury Brand level, awesome and always go exceed my expectation. We do also love the ambience of our dinner time in Tangelo Restaurant especially a special dinner with balinese dance entertainment, absolutely will do coming back again even only stoping by for a memorable diner experience in Sebatu Tegal Alang area. From the recreation side revie

This was the most expensive stay we booked for our months travel through Bali and the islands.I was so looking forward to the one night that we had booked there at $300 a night. We were early so waited in the restaurant area for 1.5 hours and had some lunch until the room was ready. The restaurant looks run down too and in desperate need of a repaint with stains and it just looked old and this place isnt that old.Staff were good.Beautiful views of Blue Lagoon and the food was OK.Into our room which was a Seaview cottage but you dont have a sea view at all.I stood on our couch on tippy toes and could just make out the sea in the background. The unit is fenced for privacy but you have no views at all except for bamboo fencing. You have a private pool which was cold and so over chlorinated that I had to shower after being in the pool because you stunk of chlorine.Room was nice but small and the bathroom was pretty too but the shells hanging around the shower were missing shells and had seen better days.Better to remove them than to have the broken strands hanging there,BEER....Big problem getting a cold beer. There must be no rotation of the beers being put into the fridge and 4 times we had to return beers that were hot(husband not happy about that). No breakfast for $300 a night and had to be purchased but was nice.I would not book here again but would recommend coming for lunch or dinner to soak up the view. That never got old and you could see turtles floating around in the bay.Underwhelming would be how I describe the Villas.Mini Mart up the road for supplies if you need them and cold beer

THE BEST OF THE BEST. Komaneka is pure paradise. I'm 59yrs who has travelled to 35 countries and covered 20 States in the USA, so I have stayed in a lot of hotels. Komaneka at Keramas Beach was amazing. Their attention to detail was faultless. We stayed for 30 days and the quality of service did not slip once throughout our stay. The Komaneka's philosophy is to welcome you in as if you are family, but this is a big understatement. We were treated like Royalty for the whole stay. Every member of staff knew our names as we met them for the first time. All the staff greeted us when passing anywhere on the grounds, from the maintenance, cleaners to the restaurant teams. They worked constantly cleaning, sweeping and pruning all the lush tropical vegetation that surrounds the complex. The villas are perfectly designed, so nobody overlooks you from any angle or direction, giving complete privacy. They are equipped with big walk in showers and separate free standing baths. Big walk in wardrobe/dressing area and large comfortable beds. We had a view of the sea from our bedroom at the front and a view over the rice fields from our private infinity pool at the back. The onsite restaurant had an extensive breakfast and all day dining menu. We also visited 4 outside restaurants within a short walk along the beach to the east. Komaneka is positioned directly on the beach at Keramas. It has volcanic black sand that sparkles like diamonds in the sun and moon light, its totally magical. Komaneka is 45 minutes taxi drive to town of Ubud to the north and 45 minutes to the city of Denpasar. It was a perfectly secluded retreat for me to escape my busy life in the city of London. The spa treatments were excellent with easily to book availability. The warm swimming pool was an impressive 33 mtrs long. The management have pieced together a wonderful respectful team. I truly believe that most top London hotels should send their staff to Komaneka for training. The best of the best. SUKSMA.

The direction and road leading to the resort can be tasting especially at night. Narrow road and no streetlamp.
It's a sanctuary by itself and it's excellent just to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Far from any amenities and it's inconvenient to move around. Private chartered car is a must; no Grab no Gojek; unless you take local taxi booked via hotel. Moving from room to lobby and dining areas requires much walking up the slope/stairs (cos the hotel is like perched on hil). You can ask for a buggy service (they have 2) and are subject to waiting time if many requests. Room was splendid and view was canopy. WiFi was strong. Room came with complimentary packs of chips and 3 cans of soft drinks. Toilet has no door and showering could be cold cos of air-conditioning. Breakfast was simple. Buffet spread of basic menu like drinks and pastries. One could order from menu. I find this was good cos less wastage Overall, resort personnel were polite and attentive!

Absolutely amazing place. Nicely situated in the quiet village of Tejakula. Lovely quiet black sand beach which is surrounded by local fishing boats, and views of the mountains and beach.

Outstanding
GGuest UserI have a lot to say. On the surface, Maya Sanur is really beautiful and appears to be in a good location, staff are attentive and kind - as long as nothing goes wrong you're fine. After staying a few days we inevitably ran into a few issues. This certainly has nothing to do with the hotel but it's important to consider. Sanur is in a part of Bali that is less touristy albeit still touristy and draws enough crowds that you'd think the beach was really inviting when in fact it isn't. Sanur beach is gravely and pretty unswimmable, lots of algae and low tides make it almost impossible to enjoy unless you wake up super early or swim later in the evening. The crowd that Maya Sanur attracts are mostly older, white foreigners and not the friendly ones. I'm white but even I was like, ”What am I doing here?” If you like being around unfriendly, snooty folks, this is your spot. The staff were mostly accommodating and incredibly kind until one morning I requested an umbrella be opened on the beach for sitting in the sun. I was told, and I kid you not, ”NO, we don't put those up.” I asked why they were on the beach if people don't use them. I was answered with, ”There is a breeze so we don't open them.” I then asked, ”When do you use them?” to which the staff member replied, ”In the morning.” This whole conversation was nothing short of ridiculous, given the price you pay to stay here and the fact that every other resort on the beach has their umbrellas open is absolutely laughable that this man gave me such a dumb answer. I decided once we were back in the room that I should share this concern with the front desk. They apologized profusely and when I was on the beach later that evening, an umbrella was up. So silly. Another sort of annoying issue, I booked an extra night, I asked the front desk first and they gave me an inflated rate, they encouraged me to let them know if I booked a room online, which I did, on their site for cheaper. I let the front desk know and they said ok. Sadly, my flight couldn't be altered and we never ended up staying but when I called to let the front desk know our plans fell through, they offered me zero refund and said, maybe you can come back in 6 months to stay with us again. I felt a bit disappointed in this given that I wanted to book directly with the front desk, maybe even getting a better rate, considering I'd already spent a ton of money with them the first 4 days we stayed. When plans fell through, I notified the hotel immediately, less than 24 hours after my new booking and they were unwilling to offer a refund for a room I would never even stay in. I guess what I learned is, Maya Sanur is pretty but business and money far outweigh service and true hospitality. With so many other resorts to choose from, I wouldn't come back based on these interactions. This is not a low budget hotel so you expect a certain type of customer service. It is clear that Maya Sanur wants to keep attracting the crowd they have so I will look elsewhere next time. It's just sad that small gestures could have gone a long way to leave a better impression and a more satisfying stay.
GGuest UserReally good experience in my 3days trip.
I propose to my girlfriend in the Jimbaran Garden.
It's is a beautiful experience.
Thanks Noor for helping aligning for the whloe team
Suta and Surya help me a lot for provding the surprise to my girlfriend.
They help prepare the decoration, help hiding the flower and help filming our wonderful moments.
I got a really great experience in this trip:)
GGuest UserThis hotel is on a secluded part of the south coast of Bali, a short distance from Kuta. Our pool suite was vast, with the bathroom being open to the pool. Service is immaculate and the food is of a very high standard. The quality of the drinks, not so much, although when they opened their new Beach Club this should be rectified, according to staff. There are great deals to be had here. They have 24 hour security and airport pick up service. Staying for a few days could get your free breakfasts (that are very good) and other gifts. Highly recommended.
GGuest UserPositive: great location , beach front, great breakfast selection, spacious rooms. The kids club staff is always friendly and accommodative. The pool with sand and slights is great for kids.
Negative: check in staff always takes long (my second visit). Not as accommodating as others. The biggest let down is the water price. In a supermarket the large bottle is IDR 7,000. In Hilton there is only option for a small glass bottle of Acqua Panna and it costs IDR 95,000. There should be water options! In the menu there are 5 pages for Whiskey options and dedicated a whole page for each gin, vodka, etc. but you cannot order a large bottle of water. We are in Bali after all!
MMTS MayNice n budget hotel
Plenty of buffet breakfast
A bit far from Seminyak beach n laundry shops
Although the hotel has services for laundry services, it charges by item.
It is located at the very busy road.
Overall we love it.
Only the toilet drain smell got in the swimming pool area n corridor.
Recommend to stay in the facing rice fields
GGuest UserVery disappointed stay! Stayed in October 2022 loved it loved everything. This stay we were not told about the breakfast not being buffet style well at least being dramatically downsized and put out the front at Papas Beach Cafe. The selections were bland and mostly asian style nothing like it was in October and that was why we rebooked! The pool deck is a accident waiting to happen very very dangerous. My daughter room key was re programmed at least 20 time is 6 days very very frustrating with 3 little boys in tow to have to go from 1 end of the property to the other to report it. On the good side the staff are amazing so friendly welcoming and 10/10 to the chef at Papa's cafe for inviting the 3 boys into the kitchen to make and prepare and serve the best Pizza's I have ever eaten. The Alam KulKul is in a great position and the staff are worth staying for but quite a bit needs to be done to make it great
GGuest UserWe have just completed a magical 10 days at Wyndham Jivva Beach. We are long term Wyndham members (owners) and have stayed at many of their hotels and resorts. Jivva Beach rates at the top of the list for us. It's just far North East of Denpasar to be out of the rat race but still within easy reach of Sanur and other tourist attractions. Apart from its idyllic setting, the staff were fantastic and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. A special mention to the head chef Gusti who has a wealth of experience at 5 star international hotels. His leadership ensured a high level of cuisine at every meal. And Wijaya, the food and beverage manager led a team of wait staff which would be hard to beat anywhere. There are no shops close by, but we booked half day tours using local drivers at very reasonable prices (IDR 600,000 for 5 hours), so we were able to visit many local attractions. We also took the ferry to the island of Penida across the Badung Strait ~ well worth the time to do this. We were surprised that the beach (which is very close), is made of black sand ~ not a problem for us, but maybe for some. In essence, we love Wyndham Jivva and intend to visit again in 2024.
GGuest UserAmazing hotel 1 the best in Kuta when it comes to the location, standards and keeping the resort clean and in perfect condition. Rare in Bali! the rooms are extremely comfortable, with full amenities and extremely well maintained. Beautiful Balinese style with high end products, similar standards with any international Hotels. Amazing pool size middle of a beautiful landscape, just hard to believe you are at the heart of Kuta. Breakfast is one of the best around Kuta too. So much choice to accommodate large nationalities, from Balinese, Indian, asia, continental, international etc… The staff is just amazing, extremely friendly and efficient. Nothing is perfect in life and things can happened! just address it to the front office and in the next 5 minutes someone will fix your issues, including technical issues you could have in your room. Ayu at the front office is a gem! what an asset to the Ramayana. She is so efficient and professional. Same with Endra at the Gabbah restaurant - what an amazing waiter! kindness and so professional with perfect English skills…. just another amazing asset to the Ramayana. The Resort manager is new and what a difference since he joined the Ramayana - he is everywhere, extremely friendly and really manage the property extremely well. My only negative comment will be the pool water temperature - too cold , the water should be heated same as any 5 starts hotel . Many guests were saying the same things…. pool water temperature should be warmer. Nevertheless it is my favorite hotel in Kuta 15 minutes away from the Airport in front of Kuta Beach….
GGuest UserWe stayed in this guesthouse for a week. We were looking for a quiet place to sleep, far from the chaos of Ubud, the bet is held. It's really isolated, in the middle of the rice fields. The staff are lovely, very helpful and friendly. They are always there for you and if you have a question or request, they will go out of their way to answer it right away. The room is large and very clean. We asked for an upstairs room and got it. The bed is firm but comfortable. The rooms all have a terrace where you can eat, have breakfast or simply relax. The included breakfast is very simple (choice between omelet and pancakes, fruit juice, and fruit), but sufficient. You can pay extra for extras. There is no restaurant or bar in this guest house, so you will either have to go to the hotel not far away or order your food on Grab/Gojek. We opted for this second option, and it went very well, a huge choice, delivery in less than an hour if you order from a restaurant in Ubud. The staff can also take an order and your money and go 2/3 shopping for you for drinks displayed on the minibar. Every day they gave us a bottle of water each for free. The pool is nice and clean. The air conditioning is very efficient, sometimes even too much! It has to be settled. Sometimes we just ended up cutting it off. You won't be hot. Now, the negative points, because a good opinion must also mention the points to improve: Daylight which passes very easily, the curtains are not very glued to the window so from 5 am we began to have light. It's true that we Europeans are used to sleeping in the dark. In the room there was also a pipe noise, quite sharp, when people were using the water, whether it was us or neighbours. I don't know what it is, maybe a pump, pipes... I don't know if the problem is common to all rooms. Since I'm sensitive enough to noise to sleep, I opted for earplugs, problem solved. Count 3 to 5 euros one way to get around town by ordering a ride on Grab/Gojek. We had the reservation at a very good price because booked early and before the lifting of health restrictions, so we will say that we are very satisfied with our choice. I hope they will improve the two points mentioned above because those were the two things that bothered me.
RRenatadevriesIt started when checking, the booking was not in. We had read the confirmation email several times but they couldn't find it back in the system. After what happened, a manager came and he couldn't help. When we asked whether we could reserve a room through them, it was only for the double of our reserved amount. When we indicated that we found it strange all because you were withdrawing booking.com a ... percentage, they remained there that we could only get it for double. After a while they received green light (whom no idea was) and we were brought to the room, we had been upgraded but we wondered seriously what we would have been given if we had not been given it. The room itself is not clean. The bedroom is not clean and the bathroom is plenty, and there are many Chinese who are raising the whole night, and it is apparent that it is permitted to scream in the middle of the night, and the breakfast is made mainly for the Chinese. The hotel is not a Best hotel, but all staff are very friendly, but the result is not as it should be.
