Expectations were low as this was just a stop over for 3 nights, before exploring more of Thailand. The entrance is unassuming and feels like you've stepped back into the 60s, with lots of dark wood panels and COVID style reception desk. Something else from days gone by ... Great service from all the staff. Room was on the 3rd floor. Spacious, huge bed, air con, TV, kettle and mini fridge. Bathroom was the most dated, hand held shower over the bath and a hand basin which didn't drain well. The room was quiet, even though we looked over Soi 8. Location is excellent with great restaurants and bars minutes away. The BTS is close too, also ample taxis and tuktuks. Conclusion: For a few nights to get the Bangkok experience..... on a budget, and with a pool, I'd recommend this hotel. If you want luxury or are staying longer, with a corresponding higher budget, I'd go elsewhere.
