Kimpton MAA-LAI BANGKOK by IHG

The hotel's environment is excellent, with fantastic greenery – truly an urban oasis, no exaggeration. We were given a room on the 19th floor this time, offering expansive views, including Lumpini Park. The service was superb. During check-in, the front desk staff escorted us to our room and explained all the amenities. The hotel breakfast was also wonderful, very rich, with Western, Thai, and other international options.

An absolutely perfect experience! The hotel's design is top-notch, the breakfast was fantastic, and the bathroom experience was excellent – they provide a full set of toiletries with a subtle herbal scent. The only downsides were the construction view outside the window and the slightly inconvenient public transportation access.

I've stayed here many times. Lately, whenever I go to Bangkok, I almost always stay at this hotel.

The room was okay and the view was beautiful, but I wasn't a big fan of the room's scent and it felt a bit damp. What really bothered me, though, was the service! The staff at this hotel have some serious discriminatory behavior! At check-in, the staff member said check-out time was 11 AM. I didn't think much of it at the time, just found it odd since all the other hotels I've stayed at have a 12 PM check-out. I was too tired and just wanted to get to the room, so I didn't argue. But later, when I got back to the room, I checked my booking and it said 12 PM! When I went downstairs, I asked the front desk again what the actual check-out time was. A different staff member told me it was always 12 PM. I then asked why their colleague at check-in told me it was 11 AM. That staff member couldn't really respond, only emphasizing that it was 12 PM! Another thing happened at breakfast the next day. I entered the restaurant, which was very large. The hostess led me to a very empty section far from the food stations. I couldn't help but ask if there were no other tables available. She then radioed someone to check, and after a moment, her supervisor came over and told her which table was free. She then led me to that empty table. When she asked what I wanted to drink, I asked for tea, but it never came even when I was almost finished eating. I finally asked another server, and it arrived quickly.

As a premium boutique brand under the InterContinental Group, this Kimpton in Bangkok lives up to its reputation. The hotel is located in Bangkok's embassy district, right below the US Embassy, and is widely known among locals. The staff demonstrates high professionalism; upon check-in, guests are offered a welcome drink and a disposable face towel. They proactively greet and engage with guests, making interactions very pleasant. There are also Chinese-speaking staff at the front desk and with the concierge. From 8 AM to 7 PM, the hotel provides an hourly shuttle service to BTS Chit Lom station. You just need to contact the concierge an hour in advance to book. Since it's a pet-friendly hotel, you'll often see adorable pets in the lobby. More service details can be found in the last picture. This time, I chose a two-bedroom 'green lung' view room, which was nearly 100 square meters and had a balcony with an excellent view. The room was equipped with a washing machine and detergent, allowing me to keep my clothes clean. The daily housekeeping was also impeccable – highly recommended! The restaurant is located on the 5th floor, with breakfast served from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. The dining area is spacious with plenty of seating, so it never felt crowded even during peak hours. The breakfast beverages are a highlight, especially the Thai milk tea, which is definitely worth trying!
