Montraj Coach Sukhumvit Bangkok

This hotel is super convenient, just a 3-5 minute walk from BTS Asok station. You can even see Terminal 21 mall right outside the hotel!

The room is small, but I really like the design. The Wi-Fi isn't great, and the hot water isn't the best, but the location is good, and I love having a jazz bar downstairs.

I stayed for four nights and had requested a top-floor room before booking, which they provided. The room was much more spacious than I expected, which was great. The only minor issue was that the central air conditioning was a bit noisy. Overall, I was very satisfied.

The room design feels like a train carriage, doesn't it? The wallpaper is a deep blue, and it's kept very clean. The quality of the towels and amenities is good for this class of hotel. However, the room atmosphere is quite dim. This might be due to the small window, but the room feels damp, and so does the bed. The air conditioning also isn't very effective. I probably won't be staying here again.

Let's start with the positives. The hotel has been renovated, and its design is quite unique, offering a relaxing and comfortable experience. The location is also ideal, within walking distance to Terminal 21 and the BTS station. However, if you plan to stay for several days, you might want to reconsider. As soon as you step out of the elevator on your floor, a strong musty smell from the central air conditioning hits you. The moment you open your room door, the musty odor is even more noticeable. I tried turning down the fan speed on the room's air conditioner, which helped a bit, but by morning, the musty smell became prominent again, leaving me with a dry throat. Staying here for more than a few days would likely make one sick. On the brighter side, the basic hygiene like bedsheets, bath towels, sofa, and floor were clean. What I couldn't stand was how ancient the bathroom sink was, with moss stains. The power outlets on the desk and next to it were broken and unusable. Several outlet covers were loose, and you could see a long-accumulated layer of grime around the edges and plug openings. I hope the hotel pays more attention to cleanliness details, not just the design.

Beyond being impressed with the hotel's ambiance and its hidden bar, I was truly delighted by the exceptional service provided by the staff. During our stay, the front desk staff went above and beyond twice, making our trip even more memorable. Firstly, there was an incident with a Grab ride. Unfamiliar with Thai baht banknotes, I mistakenly paid the driver a 500 baht note thinking it was 100 baht. Upon realizing my error, we sought help from Daisy at the front desk. She patiently assisted us in communicating with the driver and explaining the situation. Thanks to her efforts, the driver understood and made a special trip back to the hotel after completing another fare to return the overpaid amount. Without Daisy's help, resolving this issue on our own would have been incredibly difficult. Secondly, on the day of our departure from Bangkok, about an hour and a half before our flight, we contacted Daisy from the airport, realizing we had accidentally left our laptop in the hotel lobby. Daisy immediately sprang into action, verifying the laptop's details to confirm ownership. She then coordinated with our booked Grab driver, handed the laptop to him, and kept us updated throughout the process with photos and status updates. Due to her quick response, meticulous service, and strong sense of responsibility, we successfully retrieved our laptop just before boarding our flight. Such experiences make us look forward to choosing Montraj Coach Sukhumvit again on our next visit to Bangkok.
