Among the Oakwood and Ascott properties, this is the worst 4-star experience that I ever had. I wonder which contractor they engaged to design such a lousy and illogical layout.
First, the check-in took a while and funny thing is the form clearly written a complimentary BTS card will be given, yet they can overlook and I need to request for it.
The location itself has only one main street for car access, no alternative, so be aware that if there is a congestion, the wait might be long and be prepared for your rides to be cancelled by e-hailing driver even after a long wait. The waiting time for getting a Grab driver took 40 minutes, including 4 cancellations and congestion.
The hotel has a pool and a gym, the gym room is about 100sf, it can accommodate only 2 persons and more people might cause suffocation, wonder why they even bother to have this tiny gym room in the first place.
The wooden-like laminated flooring at the walkway to the room creates a loud noise while walking with rubber sole shoes. There are cheaper SPC flooring that looks much elegant and long lasting without odd flooring surface, but a 4-star Ascott property decided to go low.
The room is small and doesn't come with wardrobe. Toilet paper and shaver are not provided, only upon request. The toilet ceiling is low, yet they installed a big glass door that easily hit the rain shower head, water heater is not centralised, thus warm water is not consistent, adjustment are required every minute to ensure the water is not too burning or too freezing. Hair dryer usable but the folding part is loosen. Toilet wall has black mold and they don't even bother to clean it. There are also bed-bug-like black bugs hopping near the room entrance. Complained to the front desk, even after cleaning, the bugs are minimised but still there.
Breakfast is just nice, and different hot foods were provided on my 2-night stays.
This Oakwood is a complete disappointment, returning to the hotel is not considered.
