Conrad Bangkok Residences

I stayed at Conrad Bangkok a few times in the past (the hotel side) but never on the residence side. The quick takeaway for Conrad Residences, especially if we compare with Conrad hotel, is that it’s cheaper and more spacious. Also it comes with more elite benefits than other chains such as Marriott Executive Apartments, but the downside is an aging product and the lack of lounge access. I booked the entry level room which is a studio at the Residences, and was upgraded +1 to a suite as Hilton Diamond. This kind of upgrade is nothing to write home about, however a suite upgrade on the hotel side is now quite difficult due to a more stingy upgrade policy and +1 is also more generous than at the various Marriott Executive Apartments in Bangkok which are unlikely to upgrade at all because I believe they are excluded from the upgrade policy. So while the upgrade was not huge, it resulted in a suite nonetheless. I previously read some pretty poor reviews of rooms in dire need of renovations, so my expectations were low and they were exceeded. Obviously the room had seen better days but everything was functional and in particular the air conditioning was very strong. For solo travelers I would say a smaller (renovated) room at Conrad hotel is probably preferable but for guests looking for more space, the residence side can be an option. My main negative surprise actually had nothing to do with the age of the hardware. There was a full kitchen but I also expected a washer and dryer but it’s simply not part of the offering at the residences (need to use shared laundry facilities). It’s a major negative in my opinion compared to full-service hotels which have some long-stay accommodation room types such as Marriott Surawongse, Kimpton, Akyra Thonglor (SLH), and Sindhorn Kempinski, all of which have a washing machine in the room. If booking a room at Conrad Residences, the lack of lounge access is one drawback relative to the hotel side because it’s not part of the benefits. However breakfast is included in the same restaurant as the hotel side, which is not a benefit offered at Marriott Exec Apartments so overall Conrad offers more. I did not partake in the breakfast but I took a look at the buffet and it seemed similar to what it used to be the last time I stayed at the hotel. Overall I had mixed feelings about Conrad Residences. For such accommodation I suspect some people will prefer a washing machine in the room but there was none so it’s a miss. However if the purpose is mostly to have extra space and a full kitchen, it can be a reasonable option which offers more elite benefits as Hilton Diamond than Marriott choices.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS DISGUSTING PLACE. Unclean, Bad Staff, Horrible Beds, Dim lighting, no view from window, Incompetent Management, unhygienic food handling. Cheap and nasty, the hotel is dirty and claims a SHA+ rating but there is so much dust, and unclean surfaces everywhere. And the poor value doesn’t stop there. Hotel management are rude which is further complimented by staff who just should not be working in customer service. I asked to speak to management after the desk staff WOULD NOT fix my lack of TV service in my room and nobody was available to chat with me, and the next day did not either so I checked out with 3 days remaining on my booking. I would rather lose the money than put up with such a disgusting hotel. I noticed a lot of dust in the aircon intake vent so decided to have a look, it was disgusting – the dust, was so thick it was clear that this vent had not been clear for many months or at all. So I removed it and cleaned it myself in the bathroom See the pic I have uploaded. The bed, I can feel the springs in the bed, they are so worn out that they fail to support. I asked for extra pillows at the desk and they said they are in the cupboard, I went back to the room and checked they were not, so had to contact them again and ask, after that I got the pillows. As for lighting, at times I had to use the extra torch of my phone to see in places, the lighting in the room is totally inadequate, they have installed super low wattage bulbs, obviously to save power at the customers expense. Breakfast area, I watched a staff member setting up breakfast area and he did not wash his hands between touching surfaces around the restaurant/hotel and touching food. He was also not using gloves or tongs. While I was watching him he had no concern for safe food handling, that’s because he doesn’t know what it is. Some additional information about my stay. Prior to check in I sent the hotel manager an email informing that I would be writing a review on TripAdvisor for my stay. I felt this was an opportunity for the hotel to impress, instead I was really disappointed with my stay. First I was turned away at reception because I arrived before 2:00pm, they told me to come back then. So the room becomes magically available at 2pm right?, most hotels would do their best to get you in earlier despite the booking time being from 2:00pm no this hotels staff just play by the rules (when it suites them). I didn’t complain as this was the published time however I do know that they could have handled that in a more customer friendly service manner. Next the room I arrived in had a safe that was displaying” battery” and would not accept code changes or lock properly. I called reception two people later arrived and stayed in my room playing with the safe. They had no idea what they were doing. Eventually I got sick of them playing with the back off the safe and interrupting the sleep that I needed. So I suggested to them to just get me a safe

Fantastic value for money! You get a 4 star experience for a fraction of the cost. Excellent location, close enough (walking distance )to restaurants, massage parlours and the party street (Soi Nana) but also nestled away in a side street so the noise and hustle and bustle from the main street does not bother you. Rooms were huge and tastefully decorated. Large bathroom and shower space too. Staff are really friendly and always ready to help. Breakfast was simple, good, tasty options. Lovely view from the pool. Overall, will definitely recommend this hotel to families and solo travellers. I felt safe and well taken care of though I was alone.

Overall friendly staffs and worth for money paid. Everywhere can reach by grab so location not an issue but if you like to shop from morning till night, you may need to find another hotel more nearer due to heavy traffic but price could be higher too. There's few seafood restaurant nearby with reasonable price and best still you may want to try from their 7 eleven, always my favourite place to visit for snacks, meals and beverage.

The hotel is near BTS Ploenchit. May walk a little But not far The service staff is very good once Since entering check-in There is 1 cookie when checking in as well. I stay in a Deluxe room, double bed, comfortable, with a desk to work, good bathroom, no bathtub. He will not give combs, knife. Toothbrushes and toothbrushes. If you want, you can call for a request. Fitness machine according to standard Not much But it's fun to play On the same floor as the pool Quite a little small There is no bar at the pool. And most importantly, there is no bathroom Both the pool and the gym. As for the breakfast, it is good, there are a lot of things, there is cold brew, tea and coffee, you can order staff. Overall, the hotel is good, near the train, suitable for relaxing when working in Bangkok.

The room was well kept and it was very nice. The room was also spacious. It was a shame just because there was no tissue. It was good that BTS station was near from station. There was a stand within a 2-minute walk from the hotel and it was convenient to eat breakfast. The response from the front desk was very good.
