The hotel impresses with its high-quality breakfast and attentive staff. Guests appreciate the spacious, clean rooms but find it overpriced and lacking value due to outdated facilities and high dining costs.

French-style romantic hotel with free parking🅿️ The dinner in the hotel restaurant🍴 is good, but more expensive than eating in Paris The hotel facilities are old and the power switch cannot be charged even if it is turned off...

It is the most decent hotel in this trip. The room was big enough and the environment was good, but there was a little cockroach crawling onto the bed at night. The hotel has free parking, and you can park anywhere in the village for free. French breakfast, open-air restaurant, more comfortable. It is recommended to have breakfast at the hotel, as there is no place to eat outside. The hotel is right on the edge of the Fontainebleau Forest. It was very comfortable to walk around after breakfast.

Just used this hotel for one night. Personnel and staff very kind and prompt. The room: old and outdated-style fashioned but too many things non properly working: hair-dryer with a broken piece, no shampoo in the shower… and lamps on the porch on front of my room window that remained on all night long getting too much light into my area for a good sleep.

The staff are very nice and the location is good. Unfortunately, we found a dirty sock in our bed, the wifi is very unstable, and at our breakfast they gave us two jam jars that had already been opened and used. The staff were apologetic and gave us a free breakfast, but I had trouble excusing the dirty sock. For the price they charged us, I expected more attention to detail. Also, for a family of three, they only gave us one roll of toilet paper. Not a big deal, but again a lack of attention to detail. The hotel is quiet and charming, it is a pity that during low season, some things were quite sloppy.

Than you so much! We had an amazing night in room 15. The staff was extremely friendly & helpful. Room 15 was on the ground floor close to the beautiful gardens & swimming pool area. The hotel is quiet & peaceful. The village is beautiful. The forest is close by. The room was magical! Very clean & had all the modern comfort. Breakfast was delicious. We will certainly come back soon

We would like to give more stars because the place is enchanting, the hotel from the outside (an old hunting lodge) is really beautiful, but the owners should ask themselves some serious questions about the care and maintenance of the details of the room. We stayed in the only junior suite. Beautiful. Spacious. Exposed beams. Clean room and bathroom. But then… The lamp on the bedside table is wobbly, the second socket does not work. The coffee machine and kettle have no sugar, tea bags are non-existent, only two coffee bags. The cutlery was in the safe! The external rollers do not close properly. The bathroom toiletries? Non-existent. The shower is in a pitiful state, limescale dominates. Slippers and bathrobe? We had to ask for them. The air conditioning does not work with a notification on the screen 'needs cleaning'. And then, to close the curtain of the window in the roof you have to climb on a wobbly Louis XV style chair. Curtain not in good condition that must be held closed with a do it yourself hook! Breakfast served in the room: tray and bread basket without any kind of doily/napkin… We really travel a lot. 4 and 5* are normal but we also get 3*. But such non-existent attention to detail as we have never seen here! It is truly a shame because I repeat: the place is enchanting and it is worth staying there also because Barbizon is delicious and worth visiting. We left disappointed and we will not return!

restaurant booked on June 5 for lunch. Obligation to have lunch outside while there was a cool wind and a risk of rain. No service inside, because only one waiter!!! So we decide to leave this restaurant, the owner is furious and tells us that there are other restaurants in Barbizon, I confirm, and the welcome is much warmer, so if you want to have lunch or dinner, only one instruction: AVOID THE BAS BREAU RESTAURANT

The employees of this hotel practically sequestered my octogenarian parents-in-law by preventing them from leaving the hotel while their stay was supposed to be paid for in the form of a gift voucher (which I had offered to pay in advance, which the hotel had refused). In addition, the people present were beyond unpleasant and even threatening. My request for an explanation never received the slightest response. (I have no doubt that this review will be the subject of a response totally denying the reality of the facts, given the bad faith that I have just experienced with this establishment) Basically, the service is totally out of step with the price (old room with questionable cleanliness, dinner at the ***** restaurant: the sole is 60 euros ... the wines are overpriced .... we are not in a Michelin-starred restaurant nor in the middle of Paris yet ....) The Bas Breau has really lost its luster and everything that made it charming. If you don't like being scammed and treated badly ..... Run away!
