What a jem! A very quiet and lovely place to stay. It's not big, has cool shared spaces including a huge pretty backyard, which everyone keeps modestly calling a 'terrace'))) Impeccably clean! I really wanted to rent a room, but since none were available I went for the shared female dormitory which did not disappoint. The beds are wide and comfortable. The mattresses have some cool cover that is soft and probably made of rubber, so nothing gets in which makes you forget all the bug or whatever fears one might have. The lockers are not big (nor small) with digital locks, no one apart from yourself will be able to open it. If you have a large suitcase, do not worry. The hostel provides a free storage room, so you can put all the essentials in the locker and the rest won't be bothering you. If you need to wash the clothes, they've got a a washing machine and a drier. You need to pay to use them, but it's still better than seeking a laundromat somewhere else - you can chill in your room or kitchen while it works. I did not cook, but I loved being able to store ready-made food and sandwich supplies in a rather spacious fridge. The team that works there feels like a family)) You can see them being truly eager to help, really nice people. The place is warm and cosy)) Feels like you're staying at friend's house.

The environment is a bit noisy and not enough space for storage.

First, the two gentlemen at the front desk who helped me check in and out were very patient and friendly. Second, the common areas were very spacious, and the various functional areas were clean and well-organized. There was complimentary coffee and milk in the morning, and a microwave was available for heating. Then, the shower area included public restrooms and showers, and the water heaters were cleverly designed to conserve water and avoid waste. Finally, remember to bring all your personal belongings.

An incredibly cozy hotel with friendly staff. It's comfortable and has everything you need for a great stay! It's a 5-minute walk to the metro, which is a plus.

It's about a 5-minute walk to the subway/bus stop (excluding public transportation). The picture above is of the communal kitchen I took; the one below is a promotional image but they're similar. The kitchen has cooking facilities, a refrigerator, and free coffee. The common areas are spacious with pleasant street lighting. The reception staff are very welcoming and helpful, showing you around and explaining how to use the facilities. The only downside is that there's no private bathroom in the room; you have to use the communal bathroom (but there are only a few rooms, so it's not a big deal). There's one shared bathroom for women and one shared bathroom for both genders.

It was a very clean hostel. You can buy padlocks there, but they aren't provided, so I recommend bringing your own.

There is a delicious pizza shop nearby. It is super clean. The girls at the front desk are very efficient. I suggest you ask them to answer your questions.

The service was very good. The front desk staff was very enthusiastic. They recommended tourist attractions and restaurants to me and cared about me as a traveler. They also had a pleasant chat with us. However, the room was very poor. There were about three rooms with 12 people sharing one bathroom and toilet. The quality of the roommates was average. The bed was very hard. There was a strange smell in the room. I didn't sleep well all night.

My Casa Jam experience was really fantastic. The staff were very knowledgable, kind and attentive. Shout out especially to the lovely ***Robert and Santi*** who went above and beyond to make my stay smooth and enjoyable. The place itself was in a perfect neighbourhood, very short walking distance from great restaurants, cafes, shops and Casa Vicens and not far from more central parts of town and tourist hotspots. It was really clean, the outdoor terrace with raised beds growing veggies and herbs was delightful and the free coffee was much appreciated! Really great to see that they partner with socially and environmentally sound businesses, suppliers, banks, services and companies too -- that was the main selling point for me. Thanks!

Friendly, comfortable and very clean hostel. Great location in quiet back street, yet very central. Staff were extremely helpful. We had a family room for 5 - sheets, pillows & duvets and towels all provided. Lovely kitchen and working/relaxing areas.

We (a family of 4, two adults, two teens) stayed at Casa Jam during October half term. Casa Jam is really close to Joanic station, and Joanic links up to many other metro lines, so it's easy to get around Barcelona. We arrived quite late at night as we had a late flight. The receptionist welcomed us to Casa Jam, gave us the key to our room and explained how things worked. She also gave us a map of Barcelona and explained how to get around. I would like to mention that there's ALWAYS somebody at reception (unless they've gone for a minute to sort something out, but they're always back quickly). Staff is really friendly, and happy to help. We got the "Bon Jour" room that you can see on their website, but they've replaced the lockers with a different unit which includes a safe (very, VERY helpful!!!). The room, including the bathroom, was very clean, and it has a view of the lovely patio. Each bed has a little recess with a light and a socket to plug in your charger, etc. The size of the room is good, but we mostly relaxed in the shared area (which includes the kitchen) or the patio. In the kitchen/shared area, there are cupboards and fridges where you can store your food (there are labels to stick on your food). It's also equipped with an electric cooker and a microwave, cutlery, plates and cups, etc. There are several shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. Any requests (for example, an extra pillow) were dealt with immediately. We found Casa Jam to be a very quiet place. We had noisy neighbours one night (just talking loudly, laughing, etc, no antisocial behaviour), but as it was very late (past 11pm) I went to speak to the young man at reception and he sorted it out immediately. And I mean, immediately. There's organic coffee and black and green tea (proper tea leaves!) from the organic, fair-trade, eco-friendly shop nearby. My teenage son cheered up every morning at the thought of popping down to the kitchen to help himself to some "real coffee". In the shared area there's also a section for younger kids. Mine are in their teens, so I didn't pay attention, but there's a bean bag, a table and books (possibly some toys as well?). There are also books in different languages, some board games and a deck of cards on the shelves. In summary: well communicated but far enough from the town centre that is quiet, excellent value for money, clean, quiet and safe.

They left a friend without a place to stay, literally stranded her on the street, and still charged her for both nights in advance. The communication from the organizers was terrible. And they had zero empathy for my friend. How could they leave someone stranded who had already booked and paid for a room?
