My experience with Hesperia Fira was disappointing and poorly managed from the start. The property operates on a fully self check-in model with no on-site staff which already creates challenges when issues arise.
Unfortunately, the room I booked was downgraded without any prior notice, and I only discovered this after entering the unit. The condition of the room was much older than what is shown in the photos on both the booking platform and the official website. While it is clear that the photo of rooms are old, the actual condition was even more worn than expected, which felt misleading. To address the issue, I had to return to the lobby, use the phone at self check-in machine to call customer service. I was placed on hold for a long time, with no immediate assistance.
A self check-in model only works if communication is proactive and support is responsive. In this case, there was no advance notice of the downgrade, no human presence on-site, misleading room representation, and an inefficient resolution process that placed the inconvenience entirely on the guest.
Overall, the lack of transparency, outdated room condition, and poor support experience make this a stay I would not recommend.
