Hotel Vasanta

Our experience at Hotel Vasanta was very disappointing and left us with a negative impression of our stay in Barcelona. The room we were given had nothing to do with the photos shown in the listing. Although we booked a first-floor room, in reality it felt like a basement space: there was no natural light at all, very poor ventilation, and a strong smell of humidity and dampness. The environment felt unhealthy and suffocating, to the point that we could not stay comfortably in the room. It is important to mention that we paid around €130 per night, with no indication that the room would be of this type. The listing photos are misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the room. We asked for a room change, but we were informed that there was availability only for one night. For the third night, no solution was offered, and we were forced to find another hotel and pay an additional €150 for that night. Although a refund request was made through Booking, the property refused it due to the non-refundable policy. However, the issue was not a change of mind, but the fact that the room did not match what we had booked. Regarding the staff, the attitude was polite but without any real effort to resolve the situation. We were told that management would contact us, which never happened. The suggestion to return in the future with a “better price” was inappropriate given our experience. As a positive note, the room was well equipped (towels, bathrobes, iron, water, etc.), but this does not compensate for the basic lack of proper living conditions. We visited for a short holiday expecting a pleasant stay, but we left disappointed. We would not choose this hotel again and do not recommend it.

This hotel is convenient for walking to many sights in Barcelona. The hotel is very clean, and the housekeeping staff does a nice job. The telephone/text contacts were all very helpful when you ask about something. However.... Maintenance is required in some of the rooms, including broken shower fixtures and a missing shower door in Room 1. The styling of the hotel has changed since Sonder ownership took over. While everyone appreciates different styles, from our past stay here, we perceived a change from a quaint boutique property to a sterile property. This is no customer service (actual humans providing services) within this hotel. It is completely self service (which is new to us, I guess). Choose this hotel if you want a nice local place, but self-service. If you want more personalized service, you may want to keep on looking...

Everything was amazing. Located near by a metro station, nice building and cozy apartment. the place had everything that you would need, except that there was only one big towel for 3 guests, but we could manage with our own towels. Would stay there again for sure.

This hotel is perfect for couples wanting a clean and comfy room to explore Barcelona from - the location is perfect and only a 20 minute walk from the Sagrada and is pretty central. The consierge service on WhatsApp could not be more helpful and The lovely Gio greeted us when we arrived. Would 100% recommend and come back next time we are in Barcelona again.

Stayed here for 10 days in July 2023. We had a room with a king bed and a pull out couch for three people. We had 0 issues with entering Sonder. The app was very easy to use. However, the app was not accurate about the locker luggage storage. In the app it says it is not available at this location yet is is. The lobby that you enter in has the luggage storage and a water station for free to fill up reusable waters which is nice. We did pay for early check in and the room was not ready when we got there. This was a bummer after traveling all day. They said they would refund us the $40 early check in fee. Note there is no people working at this hotel physically. All communication is done remotely through the app. Upon first entering the room it is your standard hotel room. Nothing special but seems to be okay. Inside the room there is not a lot of storage. There is one standing shelf unit for you to hang your clothes in with a safe in it. There is also mini fridge if you request it which we did. The king size bed was comfortable enough however note that they do not change the sheets during your stay. In the app there is a button to request a cleaning but then once you click on it, it says it is unavailable for this location. The pull out sofa is very hard to pull out. Once out the metal bar that supports it can be felt every-time you sleep on it. Not comfortable at all. Now, to get to the worst part. Throughout our stay one of us kept getting bug bites and we weren't sure from what. Well on the later half of our stay we found a massive spider in the middle of the night in the pull out bed. We also found four cockroaches in the bathroom during our stay. We were on the first floor so they have easier access but it was still unacceptable. We did complain to the company via the app and they did refund us our last night. Overall I would not recommend staying here in the future. Book a hotel nearby instead.

As soon as I entered I noticed the lack of a reception to refer to, to communicate it is necessary to speak via the internet. "Staff" unavailable, we requested toilet paper several times but it was not given to us, the sheets are changed once a week, the blanket is joined with a duvet, even in the middle of August, mini fridge with high temperatures, of the 2 booked beds one was a sofa bed, with the bar bent and the mattress falling, suction system broken in the bathroom, window without mosquito net, air conditioning which, if turned on, hit the sleeper's face, in short, A DISASTER

I knew how shabby this hotel was from the moment I arrived. After finding the hidden little old door I attempted to open the door, which was locked. I called the reception number and was told that I would have to enter the property and room with a code provided via email. As soon as I entered, I noticed the lack of a reception, and of staff I could refer to. The bed had traces of hair, and more than one bed was a sofa bed, consisting of a small mattress that fell down while you lay down and a heavy duvet unified with the cover, not a good choice since we are in full August!!! Window without mosquito net, so it was impossible to try to circulate the air without letting insects into the room, very small bathroom and no tool to circulate the air, broken fridge, little space to put objects, in short, a disaster . Not recommended

Sonder apparently acquired Vasanta hotel, fired all the staff, and attempt to manage the hotel with part time (at best) help. They are totally unresponsive to requests. The rooms are small so it’s nice to use the common area, however there was a lighting problem they REFUSED to fix, so we were stuck in the tiny room. The shower floor is slick and thus dangerous, and they would not supply a mat. No clean glasses all week. Front door lock (code operated) was sticky. No hand towels, no fridge. Stay away!

Massive apartment. Cheap for how huge and beautiful our apartment was. Fast Wi-Fi. Clean. Modern and beautiful furniture. My wife and I always stay w sonder bc we always get a huge apartment for half the price of every other hotel. This company is the future of hospitality
