Holcombe Guest House

I was booked in on my email to room 12 and a mistake occurred because another guest was booked into room 12. Now there are no staff onsite a lot of the time the room allocation and email communication has to be perfect and it failed. Quickly resolved but after a day at work I shouldn’t be sorting out this places problems. They also double charged my credit card for the booking. I emailed them and sent the screen shot, but heard nothing do had to chase it up. Not proactive and was better before staffed before recent management change

My husband and had a wonderful stay in the family room. The staff were very attentive and cheery and did all they could to make us feel comfortable. The breakfasts were perfect, we had the full vegetarian and everything was thought out and beautifully presented, we couldn’t have wished for more. A great additional facility is the provision of a fridge, microwave & small oven (though you’d need your own oven gloves!) in the communal lounge to heat up meals if we wanted to eat in our room. This was particularly appreciated as there wasn’t much choice in the area for eating out in the evening, although we could have eaten in the dining room for part of the week if we’d let the kitchen staff know beforehand. On first sight of Holcombe, it maybe doesn’t really stand out, it’s unassuming and in a residential area, but then you go through the front door and find a real hidden gem! We wouldn’t hesitate to book up again if visiting that part of Lincolnshire.

Stayed here for 3 nights in room 1 I was scheduled to arrive early evening, so the hotel sent me check-in instructions which were perfect. Parking here is pretty straightforward as the hotel has 4 or 5 parking spots in front of the building. My room was on the second floor, although there are also rooms on the first floor where there’s also a kitchen and dining room. The entire hotel is very clean and tidy as was my room. As with most guest houses, the room was equipped with a kettle, tea, coffee, tv, hairdryer and even a small fan, which was very welcome. The room also had an armchair and wardrobe, giving the room a more homely feel. My room didn’t have an ensuite, but the shared and separate toilet and showers were clean. The guest house offers all you can eat breakfast or cooked breakfast options. The former is cereals, toast and coffee/tea. They do a vegan full English breakfast for the latter, there’s probably also a version for the meat eaters, although I didn’t check. The Vegan Full English Breakfast was really nice, it even had vegan bacon, which I’d never had before. Think I’ll try that at home. Overall, I had a fantastic stay at Holcombe and would stay again the next time visiting Lincolnshire.

Hello, A Very Good Friend thoroughly recommended Holcombe Guest House as a place to stay. There is a Railway Junction with a variety of freight trains, I found the property lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was cosy and a comfortable bed with en-suite facilities (WC + Shower) and the Breakfasts are delicious and filling which meant i only needed a midday snack. They offer evening meals for £12 which is reasonable compared to eateries

Lovely weekend away. The rooms are nice and clean. The shower was nice and powerful. Anne was lovely and i really enjoyed listening to her anecdotes about her horse Macky. The breakfast was lovely and i look forward to returning again soon..
