We stayed here for one night prior to going indoor skydiving at iFly. Room was clean, nice bath & comfortable bed. It is a bit dated; but the hotel is in general. All in all, we had a respectable night! (Just hoping I don’t get a car park fine like those below, or my opinion may change) 😂. We didn’t have time for breakfast unfortunately so not in a position to comment, but hotel is close enough to walk to the shopping centre/food outlets.

Holiday Inn Basingstoke

The room (209) we were in was very cramped and we were continually tripping on the feet of the office chair at the table - the vinyl on the chair was torn and frayed. The net curtains were ripped with big holes. We were not able to close the solid wooden shutter to the window as there was an armchair and occasional table that needed to be moved to do this - this was impossible as there was no space elsewhere in the room to do this. We did complain and was told that we were allocated this room as an IHG Club Member - I shudder to think what the other rooms are like! When we complained no one offered to come and see the problems and showed no surprise. We were told that we could not change rooms as it was fully booked. I was told that the Manager would contact me - I am still waiting.

It feels like a private night in a residential area. The owner and his wife were very kind and kind to me who didn't understand English very much. The stars at night seen from the garden were very beautiful and impressed.
