The hotel was fine. We paid for our trip up front but two days later were were charged $203.00 twice which the hotel has no record of but it is on my bank statement. They were not helpful when I called to try and get this figured out. Basically someone at the hotel stole $406.00

I must say this is one of the loveliest and nicest hotels I have stayed at. Staff are very kind and helpful (mailed an item I left to my home). It is beautifully decorated. The outdoor bar area with the flaming bowls were enchanting at night. Spot on drinks and wine selection. Rooms were very nice and comfy beds.

First time I’ve stayed in this area when Baton Rouge and it was a great location for where I needed to go. The hotel is one of the nicer ones in the area too. My room was clean and comfortable. The common areas were very nice and inviting. Make sure you eat breakfast at the buffet downstairs. It was excellent and one of my favorites! The grits and bacon were excellent. I wish I had seen the omelet station before I started fixing my plate because I would have ordered one. It was at the end and not really well seen. They need better signs for it and the employee working it wasn’t offering it either. However, it was still a great breakfast. I will stay here again when in the area.

I usually patronize this place because it’s my favorite, but the service was extremely awful . The host sat us at 7:05pm I watched the servers serve everyone that came in after us, it took 30 minutes to get water that was after I requested the managers presence Ms Jessica twice. The server lily was very rude and lied, then said it wasn’t her section, when we went to the host stand the tables were divided evenly between her and brinti. The host sat another couple directly next to us at 7:38pm. The server LILY greeted them and brought water to their table at 7:40pm and their ordered was taken at 7:45pm. If they were short servers and extremely busy how is it that everyone after us were served very quickly. I come here a lot because of the great food and atmosphere, but this was very unfair and a very unpleasant experience.

Absolute GEM! Not sure why I haven’t stayed here before, truly appreciated the service and pleasantries of the staff. The lounge was well stocked, plenty of options, friendly host. The front desk was very helpful and accommodating. Loved my room, AC was really good, bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Everything needed for a great nights sleep and breakfast. Restaurants are close by, good ones IMO in the Bluebonnet area.

My wife and daughter had a reservation for two nights for a dance competition that was nearby. We had made this reservation about 2 months ago. She got a notification on her mobile app that said her room was ready so she checked in, she was not going to sleep that night in the room but show up in the early morning. She showed up the next day in AM to get into her room because my daughter had a dance competition that she needed a room to get ready in. When she got to the front desk they said her reservation had been canceled because she didn't show up by a certain time. When she explained the situation and said she had a confirmation that her room was ready so she checked in online already the lady at the front desk immediately went to get her manager Henry. Henry informed her that she was not able to check in because they canceled her reservation as she didn't show up. My wife explained but she checked in online, and she was showing up now in the AM to get into the room. They said her room was given away. Henry did offer my daughter that she could get ready in the bathroom down the hall. Thanks but no thanks Henry. They eventually gave her a room, which wasn't the same room she reserved (a different style room, smaller, and one king bed instead of two queens). She had reserved a suite with two queen beds, and had a confirmation of the reservation from 2 months ago. She found out later that day she wasn't the only one from the dance competition that was having issues with the hotel, another mom had her room canceled. They found out that the owner of the hotel's daughter had a wedding that night mysteriously some rooms got canceled and given away. This is not typical of a Renaissance hotel, it's poor customer service, and if you have a confirmed room and you check in via mobile app and you get no further notifications you believe your room will be ready once you get there. Not at this hotel. Beware they will cancel and give away your room at will here.

It's 4 months later and I'm finally writing this review. It was 9 years ago that I stayed at this property for the first time and remember having a nice stay here. 9 years later and I would say it was still a really good stay. I do like Renaissance properties so glad there was one to stay in, in Baton Rouge and is still around. The check in was smooth and the people at the front desk are very inviting which to me is important as they are the ones who can kick off a good stay and a bad stay. I was there for business so I like things a little more quiet ie away from the elevator and they accommodated me on that end. I will also say that I arrived on a Friday before an LSU game so the place was packed so if you like a less crowded hotel, don't go while there is a game happening. Thankfully things were quiet enough that it didn't bother me. The room was just as I remembered. Since it had been some time since my last stay, it hadn't changed which means it was slightly dated but you would have had to stay there before to know that. The bed was comfortable and everything worked just fine so no complaints there. I did have breakfast each morning which was a buffet. I thought it was just the weekend but turned out to be during the week too. I was ready for menu service but was kind of happy that it was a buffet since I was there for work and like buffets since it gets me in and out of breakfast quickly and off to location. The room service menu is nice too. I eat plant based and they had a veggie wrap that I thought was pretty good.A lot of hotel menus lack this so glad I had this option. Parking is in a lot. When it's crowded, parking can be a little hard to find but overall no problems. Again, since there for work, it's more convenient than valet service. The location of the hotel is really good. It's not far from the highway and there are plenty of food options around if you don't want to stay in the hotel. It's not downtown but felt like the area the hotel is in has more options for food and bars. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel if going to Baton Rouge. My stay before this, I was at the Marriott down the highway and found this property better. Solid hotel.

The ambiance of this Marriott property was absolutely beautiful. The staff was very accommodating and the rooms were very cozy. It's nice when you can step into a guest room, and it mirrors the advertising pictures from the website. I enjoyed my stay, although for for night as nice as the property was, I wish it was longer. The rooms were cozy and inviting. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean and boutique ready. Very nice vanity and spacious walk-in showers were the highlight. I would definitely visit again. Beautiful staff Awesome property.

A very nice place to rest after a work day. It has an excellent location in Baton Rouge with a very pleasant view. The service is excellent, and its gym and pool are something that should not be missed. Their breakfast buffet is good. Something to improve is the care that the maids give to cleaning the rooms and leaving the complete assortment of towel sets.

Stopped here on a long road trip from Arizona to Florida. It was truly the best hotel we stayed in. I wish we didn’t have to leave after only one night. Immaculate and beautiful room on the third floor. Front desk did a great job accommodating our request to be close to elevator as my husband has trouble walking. Our room was spectacular and I loved the bar and friendly bartender. Highly recommended!

My colleagues and I were extremely impressed with the Renaissance, Baton Rouge at our recent conference. The staff was extremely FRIENDLY, the food was DELICIOUS, the room was CLEAN and LOVELY. The conference room was nice and convenient. The restaurant and bar was a great place to take a break. The live music at dinner was delightful.

Stayed here as a one night stay as part of a road trip. In contrast to some reveled- I found the hotel spotless and the staff friendly and helpful. It was my intention to go out for dinner but a nasty storm came through so I had oysters in the bar/ restaurant ( and yes- there ARE full size tables on the side opposing the bar. Oysters were good- ordered a club sandwhich to take back to the room. They were SLAMMED due to a baseball team staying there and another event. Ymyhe bartender forgot to enter my orde, but she did her best to help ( could a “rush” sandwhich have come faster- yes, but she did her best to help. I could sit here and complain- but I don’t expect perfection- . This hotel was really really good. With all the great restaurants in Baton Rouge- I’d likely eat elsewhere- but that’s not a strike against this property.

I stay at this hotel for business several days a month, usually two or three nights together. Hotel is in a great location, directly off I10 near the Mall of Louisiana. Many restaurants and retail stores nearby. The hotel is typical Marriott quality and has a luxurious feel. The lobby is large and very elegant, with a large lounge area. The hotel had a very clean, welcoming smell throughout out. Meeting rooms are excellent. Rooms are tastefully done and very quiet. (I always stayed on a higher floor). The bathroom was very clean and has a very large shower. The room had coffee service and a small refrigerator. The restaurant is small, but food is very good. Great buffet breakfast. (I wish I knew what they put in their breakfast grits. Best I've ever had!) All in all, a great hotel at a great location in Baton Rouge.

Shout out to Kirk for going above an beyond for me. I pulled up ad asked him if he could bring my stuff up to my room for me and he did. (Y’all don’t forget to tip them.) I was blown-away when I went into my room. I can’t tell you how many times I got to my room at other hotels and they guy just left the cart in my room in the walkway- He had everything in it’s place! My dress bag hung in the closet, work bag by desk, insulated bag by the fridge and my suitcase on the stand. I had had a long day so I went to get the bucket to go get ice and to my surprise he had also filled the ice bucket! What?!? N’yah was friendly too. Now the bar staff is another story. I . Actually, yesterday I went to the bar and asked the bartender for utensils and said just a min and he turned around and was counting his tips, I sat down and went back over about 5 min later and asked again, he looked down and picked his phone up and sent a text, they he reached over and handed it to me. This guy was not friendly to me at all so I just went to other restaurants for lunch and dinner and drinks. I guess you can’t win them all. Ask for your eggs sunny side up in the morning you will be glad you did. Believe it or not many people can’t cook a sunny side egg up. His were perfect! Yep! I tipped him too. I stay in hotels 12-15 nights a month for work and I have never slept as peaceful as I did here! The beds are comfy, black out curtains keep it dark , and the rooms are very clean! Actually the entire hotel was very clean. I recommend this hotel and I will be back!

I am 110% dissatisfied with my stay at this hotel. I was here for a legal conference hosted at the hotel, checked in on 9/21/22 and checked out on 9/23/22. When I started my Toyota tundra it made a loud roaring sound and smelled of fumes, I realized my catalytic converter had been stolen while at the hotel. So I called the police and filed a report. It's my understanding this is a terrible issue in baton rouge, and has occured multiple times at this hotel.i went back into the hotel and infromed them of the issue only to be told they're not responsible. I asked to speak with a general manager and was told he and the front desk manager were in a meeting. Neither reached out. I believe the hotel was fully aware of the catalytic converter issue and how often it's occured on their premises and are doing nothing to prevent it from happening. Knowing they were having a large event, they could have fore warned visitors, increased hotel security, hired the sheriff's office to police the property, or placed cameras in the parking lot. Instead they did nothing, and seemed very unconcerned. The only employee that expressed any concerns was Kirk, the valet. He actually checked in when he saw the sheriff's pull up and offered us a shuttle to enterprise. Now, I've had to file a complaint with my insurance company, pay a deductible, rent a car because I'm two hours from home, and am still waiting on a tow truck to arrive. apparently it's so bad in baton rouge that there's a 4-6month wait at Toyota for catalytic converter. Shame on those who stole the converter, and shame on the hotel for their lack of concern.
