Quality Inn Baton Rouge East I-12

Quality Inn Baton Rouge East I-12

Baton Rouge|6.9km from city center
The hotel is located on the edge of No. 12 highway, it is easy to find after getting off the highway, and on the edge is holiday inn express. There are gas stations and McDonald's nearby. The hotel lobby and restaurant have just been renovated and are very nice. The hotel room is also larger, there is also a swimming pool, and free parking. There is also a free breakfast. But the biggest problem is that the hotel seems to be in the stage of brand handover. It has just changed to a new brand, and management cannot keep up. In the first room arranged for us, I opened the quilt and felt that the sheets were not changed at all, so I asked to change the room, but basically there was no change of sheets. I found a lot of hair on the sheets and pillows, the bed The supplies were very old, and there were a lot of pilling and wire drawing. To be honest, I felt very sick at the time. I wanted to check out and change the hotel. Later, my family felt that the trouble would be gone. Then I found that the bathroom light was not on, so I called the maintenance staff to see that it turned out that there was no light tube inside, so I installed it. The toilet is not easy to use either. The shower head is also leaking and it is not closed tightly. The next morning, I found that the pillow that had fallen between the bed was wet, and only then discovered that the bathroom wall was leaking, and the carpet near the bedside was wet. No wonder there was a smell in the house at night. In short, the stay feels very bad. Although the price is cheap, if I can choose again, I will not hesitate to live on the holiday. Objective analysis, in fact, the hotel infrastructure is still good, the furniture seems to be gradually updated, if the bedding and room hygiene Do it well, it still has a certain appeal. I hope that the hotel can get on the right track as soon as possible and provide a good accommodation experience for travelers.

Hotel Indigo Baton Rouge Downtown

Hotel Indigo Baton Rouge Downtown

Baton Rouge|4.8km from city center
The Hotel Indigo has a great location in downtown Baton Rouge. It's within walking distance of pretty much everything to do and see, including museums, the convention center, bars/restaurants, and office buildings. While IHG's Hotel Indigo brand is supposed to be an upper-upscale full-service, boutique-inspired brand, the Hotel Indigo in Baton Rouge felt more like a generic Holiday Inn Express or Fairfield Inn. No doorman or bellman. No offer of assistance with luggage. No newspapers. Bar doesn't open until 4pm, which means you can't get a drink until then. There's no all-day F&B nor is there a pantry or gift shop selling non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. So I couldn't even get a bottle of Diet Coke. The restaurant wasn't open for dinner when I stayed because the hotel lost its kitchen staff or staff members. At breakfast, the restaurant was very basic. There's no real table service. The breakfast menu consists of three or four egg options with all orders placed at the counter. No coffee refills and the orange juice is sugary orange juice from a mini-bottle. No oatmeal, no fresh berries and fruit, no yogurt, etc. There were some breakfast pastries at the counter but they looked old.  The atmosphere and food quality at Starbucks or McDonald's is better. The public spaces and guest rooms were very old and tired with extensive wear-and-tear. At the minimum, carpet in the hallways needs replacement as does some of the furniture in guest rooms. There are no USB outlets in the room. Only two or three accessible electrical outlets to charge assorted devices. That's just not acceptable in the year 2022. The clock-radio had iPod/iPhone docking capability ... maybe 10 or 12 years ago. We're talking like an iPhone 3 technology. No water was provided in the room. The mini-fridge and microwave were just haphazardly placed on the floor against a wall. The air conditioning unit was horrible. If you turned it on, the room was freezing even with the temperature set at 68 or 70 degrees. It never seemed to go on auto and stop running. I had to shut it off and sleep in a room that was about 73-74 degrees. I was woken up at several points during the night by what felt like earthquakes. I assume it was the elevator behind my room. Despite requesting a room away from the elevator, I was placed in a room right next to the elevator. The bathroom was dirty. Mold or mildew throughout shower. Old tiles that needed regrouting. Hair on face towels and throughout the floor of the walk-in shower. Everything just looked old and outdated. More like a dorm or locker room bathroom than an upscale boutique hotel brand. No mouthwash or other toiletries in the room. No bathrobe or slippers. The gym was well-equipped but, like everything else, was outdated. The equipment was a couple generations outdated. The general manager was apologetic and compensated me with a significant number of IHG points. While that was gracious of him, the fact remains that the hotel is

SpringHill Suites Baton Rouge South

When I booked with Expedia, under construction was never mentioned. Imagine that. So the day before, I get an email from Springhill explaining all the construction, noise, inconvenience, limited breakfast, etc. Perfect timing on their behalf. You think I felt deceived? You betcha. Walk into the room. First thing I notice is a piece of candy on the floor and a coffee stirrer sticking out in the crack of the sofa. You think they are extra cleaning in these times of Covid? Think again!

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Baton Rouge East

At first blush this looks like a newer and usual high-quality H I Express. But while the neighborhood is quiet the hotel is not, the walls are very thin, and you can hear people talking on rooms to either side of you. Very annoying when you're next to an arguing/disagreeing couple! Additionally, I'm sure, having short hair, that the long black hair on the bathroom floor didn't come from me. Perhaps the cleaning will get better with time, but thin walls are hard to fix.
Comfort Inn University Area

Traffic noise day and night. The highway is just across the street. Reception was friendly. The room was cramped and had soiled chairs in the room. The room appeared to be clean but the coffee maker was unusable. We ran water through it several times and found black stuff in the bottom of the cup and brown water. Ended up taking to the front desk with the suggestion they replace it. My suggestion to others is, if you plan to use the in-room coffee maker that you run water through it first. The beds were okay but nothing special. Lighting was good. They did have a laundry bag in the room and plenty of hot water on demand. Breakfast was the norm during Covid. Packaged items and nothing hot other than coffee.
