PARKROYAL Penang Resort

Our last hotel in Penang was in Batu Ferringhi. The hotel isn't very large, and the room facilities are a bit dated, but the experience was excellent! First, the resort layout is well-designed; despite its size, the areas are cleverly arranged, creating beautiful views at every turn. There are several swimming pools, including two for children with slides and more. Most importantly, there are staff members consistently present at the slides and by the pools to supervise and maintain order, ensuring children can play safely and securely! Breakfast was also great; although there was a queue during peak hours, the food was delicious and offered a wide variety. The beach bar also had good food, and it was lovely to relax there with the lights on at night. The best part is that the hotel has direct access to the beach and the sea! And the path from the hotel to the sea looks absolutely beautiful when lit up at night. We booked a two-story family room with a lovely balcony. The staff service was also excellent. I'm giving it five stars.

Don't arrive early for check-in. I got there after 2 PM and had to wait a long time in the lobby. Even though the lobby is open, it was still sweltering hot at noon! They did give me a birthday cake, and the chocolate cake was actually pretty well made. It's a shame there was no bathtub! I completely missed that when booking, especially since most photos online show bathtubs in this hotel... Such a pity!!

The room wasn't very big, but thankfully it had a balcony. The sea view from the room was indeed very healing and comfortable. The room's cleanliness was just okay; the bedding had some stains, but since I always bring my own disposable sheets, I didn't ask for them to be changed. Also, because it's a family-friendly hotel, we encountered kids jumping around upstairs non-stop during our two-day stay, which caused some noise. What really made my experience great were the restaurant staff; whether it was breakfast or dinner buffet, or a Chinese meal, the restaurant staff were all very friendly. The quality of the food was also excellent. All in all, these two days at the hotel were very pleasant.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! Perfect location, top-notch service. A true beach resort paradise.

1. I got a room that was full of sand and dusty (compensated with a complimentary drink). The toilet was smelly, and when the sink filled with water, it emitted a foul odor. 2. The bedsheets might have had mites, as I woke up with an itchy body and redness. They offered to change the bedsheets afterward, but it was quite inconvenient since my child was already asleep. 3. My daughter injured her foot. I asked housekeeping for a bandage, and he said they had a clinic and to go ask there, as they didn't have any. I called the operator, and she said I could go to the Feringgi clinic, which was within walking distance. I didn't want to argue since I got very sick on the second day due to my gastric issues. Overall, the service is good. In terms of cleanliness, it's quite bad. It's not worth every penny you spend, and it doesn't live up to the image of a 5-star hotel.

Absolutely stunning and incredibly photogenic, every corner is a perfect photo op. The suite was super comfortable with a large room and two bathrooms. The only downside was the breakfast; it was always crowded with a long wait, but given how beautiful the hotel is, that's a minor flaw.
