"If you don't mind being discriminated against at the front desk, being made to wait for over an hour without explanation or apology, then come! If you don't mind hallways filled with construction dust and strange smells, then come! If you don't mind construction noise pollution preventing your kids from enjoying the water park, then come! In short: if you're brave enough, come! See the video for how loud the construction noise was! The hotel deliberately concealed the fact of extensive renovations, which we were completely unaware of when booking! The most disgusting thing was that after completing the check-in formalities, the front desk staff initially told us it would only take 5 minutes to get our room cards. We patiently waited as instructed, but after more than ten minutes, no one processed our request or updated us. During this time, we repeatedly approached the staff to inquire, but they repeatedly made excuses, telling us each time to wait another ten minutes. We continued to cooperate and wait, enduring repeated delays. My family, including the elderly and children, ended up waiting for over 1 hour and 15 minutes in the open-plan, air-conditioner-less lobby without comfortable seating. During this entire waiting period, I personally witnessed other foreign guests arriving and being checked in quickly and prioritized by the front desk, without queuing or long waits. The most unacceptable act of discrimination and cold shoulder occurred later in our wait: after I had waited for nearly an hour, I approached the desk to check the progress, but the front desk staff completely ignored my presence and calmly processed the entire check-in for Korean guests. Throughout this, they gave no response, no explanation, and no apology. Only after they finished did they coldly tell me to “wait another ten minutes.” During this time, a staff member did ask the shift supervisor and reported that I had been waiting for a very long time and had not been assigned a room, but the supervisor remained indifferently on the sidelines, offering no communication, no comfort, no resolution, and no explanation, completely ignoring the guest's request and turning to leave. The deliberate delays targeting Chinese tourists, the prioritization of foreign guests, and the cold, unhelpful differential treatment from all staff seriously violated the basic service standards of a five-star hotel and showed extreme disrespect to Chinese tourists, causing us immense embarrassment, grievance, and injustice in the public lobby. Later, after I reported the situation to Ctrip, a Chinese-speaking staff member came to inquire about my situation, helped me get a room card from the front desk, and escorted us to a room to rest while the other room was being cleaned. Afterward, no one informed us when the cleaning was done or brought us the room card, so we had to go down to the front desk ourselves to retrieve the other room card. Throughout the entire booking process, there was no text, pop-up, or notification on the platform page, hotel alerts, or pre-sale notices informing us that the hotel was undergoing extensive renovations. This constitutes a deliberate concealment of significant information impacting our stay, seriously infringing upon consumers' right to know and right to choose. Half of the hotel building was under large-scale construction, indicating extensive overall renovation, not just minor localized repairs. The hotel deliberately concealed the construction facts, deceiving consumers into booking and checking in normally. The hallways had a strong, pungent odor, and the air quality was extremely poor. To cover up the construction dust and smell, the hotel placed a large number of air fresheners in public areas of the hallways and around guest rooms, releasing extremely strong, choking, and pungent chemical purifier odors. These mixed with formaldehyde and other harmful odors from the renovation, making the air constantly pungent and unbearable, causing difficulty breathing and discomfort. The indoor air quality was terrible, severely endangering the health of guests. Hotel construction noise began promptly at over 7 AM daily, with continuous high-intensity work until around 6 PM. Throughout the day, the noise from electric drills, hammering, and dismantling was immense, piercingly sharp, and highly penetrating. We specifically booked this hotel with our child to experience its unique water park and for a holiday. However, due to the continuous and unbearable construction noise all day, and with the children's water park located directly below the renovation area, our child was distressed, irritable, and completely unable to enjoy playing. After a short stay, we were forced to cut short our playtime, completely wasting our holiday itinerary and the hotel's amenities. Our goal of a family vacation was completely ruined. I share my personal experience as a lesson to expose the hotel's differential treatment of Chinese guests. Spending this money was completely not worth it, and it only left us full of anger!"
