This hotel has a homey atmosphere. You have to take off your shoes when you enter and you enter into a large living room and kitchen space. There are often people in the kitchen eating snacks. And one day, there was a whole box of muffins there for all to take. You can use the fridge and stove if you’d like. We never saw the management, but they were available by text when we needed them. Our room was large enough and had all we needed. Nothing fancy, but all was clean and comfortable. The hotel is about 10 minutes out of town, so you need a car.

Twin Peaks lodge is a gem of a place to stay while in Seward Alaska. The quaint lodging is in a unique house with a B&B feel (without the food). Great parking. Rooms are not fancy.. Our only concern was we did not understand that the kitchen area needs to be clean while off doing our thing. We were not introduced to the staff or caretaker.

....und deshalb sind Sie bitte auch nicht irritiert, wenn Sie Ihr Navigationssystem von der Hauptstrasse "Seward Hwy" in die kleinen Seitenstraße "Herman Leierer Rd." schickt und dann in eine noch kleinere "unpaved road" (Old Exit Glacier Rd.) weiterleitet - hier gelangen Sie auf dem direkten Weg zur Twin Peaks Lodge - was bei genauerer Betrachtung nur ein großes Gemeinschaftshaus mit abgetrennten Zimmern ist - d.h. wenn Sie ankommen, sehen Sie an der Haustür einen Zettel, darauf steht Ihre Zimmernummer und die Schlüssel sind auf dem Zimmer (Self-Check-In & Out). Es gibt eine große Küche, zwei große Kühlschränke mit Eisfach (also bitte die eigenen Lebensmittel beschriften) und geräumige Zimmer (ohne Klimaanlage), die aber nur nach Abreise gereinigt werden. Bezahlt haben wir 582 Euro für 2 Nächte - dafür erhält man eine gute Ortslage (d.h. man ist schnell am Hafen bzw. beim Supermarkt und zum rd. 12 km entfernten Exit Glacier Nature Center ist es auch nicht weit), ein stabiles WLAN und Funktionalität anstelle von Luxus.
