We booked accessible room which was at the end of long corridor through two heavy doors. My husband has difficulty walking so we asked for different room but told they were full. Room was dark with small double bed. This was we guessed to accommodate a wheelchair. However it made for very uncomfortable sleeping. We hardly had a good nights sleep. We were there three nights. I asked for the number for customer services to complain. I have sent several emails informing them of our disappointment but have had little help. Was informed we should have asked for another room. We had but were told it was full. What has happened to guaranteed nights sleep? We are still waiting for reply to email sent in December. Terrible service.

Overall we had a really good stay here. We had booked two rooms separately. One room was on the ground floor originally, but as soon as we walked in we requested a change. Some of the party have stayed in that room before. The heating had been set at 26.5 degrees and there was an awful smell from the bathroom. It was the same last time they stayed. Having then went to find the second room (and the new one), both upstairs, we found that they were actually significantly bigger than the first room. The staff were really helpful and friendly. There is a lovely walk around the lake that you can do.

Premier inn was definitely not as advertised on the website. The website shows what you would expect from a premier inn, where as the actually reality is damp, mouldy, dirty rooms. I have stayed in many Premier inns and this one was vile. Water marks all over the walls, an overwhelming smell of damp, not suitable for young children to be in, completely unacceptable. I would class it as being more like a youth hostel! Please do bit be fooled by the false advertising and go elsewhere!

The smell of damp in room 28 was so strong I had to move the bed next to the window to allow fresh air in. I did report it to reception and I was told that I would not be moved. I am not from this area and as it was late in the evening I think I would’ve struggled to get a bed for the night hence why I move the bed to the window. unfortunately on this occasion, terrible room, terrible night sleep. I can’t speak for any other rooms but this one is not fit for purpose. Ps hope they get this sorted quickly then no one else will be extremely disappointed.

The Staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble gave short list of lights and things to adjust and when I came back in evening all small issues were put right. Obviously have a good maintenance fitter on site.

Really not a great experience. We have come here with our 1 year old and the travel cot they provide is an absolute joke. There’s no way that can pass for safe sleeping for babies. They provide a cot unit with a foldable ‘mattress’ that is 3 planks of wood and a sheet over it basically. We were lucky that we brought our own travel cot as there was no way I was putting our little girl in that. The hotel itself is so outdated and although the staff are friendly, we had an issue with our next door neighbour making a lot of noise and playing guitar and we called to complain a few times and they ‘guaranteed’ it would stop by 10pm but we didn’t hear a single person come up to check for the noise nor help it stop which then lead to the guitar playing waking up our daughter. I’m really truly disappointed because it is in such a lovely location but this was really not worth the money at all.

The bed is comfortable and so is the armchair. The makings for drinks in the room are generously supplied. The doors are opened with actual keys, which for me, on a mobility scooter, was quite awkward. I’m in room 1, on the ground floor, which is an accessible room and it is well thought out except for the red call button being right next to the light switch at the bedside and unfortunately, on my first night, I set it off when I was groping for the light switch. The night staff tapped on my door but was reassured when I appeared, unharmed and a little embarrassed. I would stay here again and I thoroughly recommend it.

This premier inn is not a Lenny Henry poster child. It is basic and a bit tired. But the rooms were clean and the staff friendly. I can't say the same for the attached beefeater, The service was appalling. The staff were rude and couldn't care less about the customers. I wasn't even served the meal I ordered at first and was treated like it was my fault when I turned it away.
