We did not have dinner here so cannot comment on that although the menu looked lovely. However.....breakfast was a joke! Myself and my 2 friends all got up early to get get to breakfast which is only served until 8.30am and when we got there we found that there was no cooked breakfast, only continental. That's fine but a continental breakfast does not consist of a croissant and an egg cup of yoghurt! Oops I mustn't forget the 2 slices of cold toast🙄 at not point when we booked were we told that there was no cooked breakfast....it clearly states on their website the cooked breakfast available. When we went to speak the gentleman at reception, Baz, he was incredibly rude and unhelpful. He lied, would just walk off and ignore us or was rude and a bit confrontational. He would not give us a head office number for Verve hotels. And we were not the only people unhappy this morning! It's such a shame because the breakfast, or lack of, and his attitude, has spoiled what we thought was a lovely little hotel. I've seen the comments on here from the hotel staff when they get a negative review and I cannot believe how rude and insulting they are to people. Rather than apologise and take on board these comments they just want to be nasty so I can see why Baz was the same! Also, although the small car park is free you have to wait for other guests to come and move their car that's blocking you in as the hotel allows double rows of parking. I would like to add that all the other staff we met on our stay were lovely

Cranfield|1.45km from city center
We checked in here for 1 night using Booking.com ...it cost us £55 a night for 2 people ( no breakfast as we'd read previous reviews which weren't very complimentary) we'd added to booking for an accessible room as husband disabled. We arrived at Hotel about 6pm. Plenty of parking and disabled spaces. Hotel building accessible to wheelchair users and disabled toilet in reception. No lifts. When we checked in room was on 1st floor receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful and found us a room on the ground floor (room 43). The room was furthest away from reception which wouldn't be a problem for an able-bodied person but navigating suitcases and additional items needed for a person with disabilities (on a mobility scooter) through several doors was a bit awkward, but we were grateful for the ground floor room. The room was small maybe better suited for 1 person, but adequate for 1 night. Plenty of storage, TV, tea/coffee provided, no fridge, no AC but fan provided, windows open slightly, extra pillows/blanket, hairdryer, body/hair wash, bar of soap, towels provided. The bed was small (double) but a huge desk in the room which if was replaced by something smaller a larger queen/king sized bed could be fitted in. En-suite Shower with shower curtain, plenty of hot water, fixed head shower, adequate for me but totally inadequate for my husband who couldn't shower, no grab rails or shower seat. This hotel is lovely and the size of the rooms is reflected in the price. The whole hotel is absolutely spotless from reception to rooms (bed linen and towels good quality) carpets all look new, paintwork all fresh its a credit to the housekeepers. There is a large well stocked bar, with pool table, and also a cafe/restaurant which in my opinion was more aimed at catering for a student population, with a limited daily menu, (we didnt use it) again very clean. The staff we met on reception were extremely friendly, helpful and informative. Hotel is on a university campus dont follow sat nav postcode just follow the road straight round. Mitchell Hall on the left, not very well sign posted. Its in beautiful grounds and a 2 minute drive to the co-op and petrol station. We would return (but the hotel should offer accessible rooms, the room we had wasnt suitable for a wheelchair user ( we had to leave it outside the room door in the corridor) and there should be disabled bathroom facilities)

The Woodlands Event Centre
4/522 Reviews
We spent some time at the Woodlands conference centre in March and cannot wait to return! Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, the food was exceptional and conference facilities were also brilliant. Laura on the reception desk was an absolute star dealing with several small problems that arose during our stay and was especially attentive in ensuring the remainder of our trip went without a hitch. We look forward to seeing Laura and the team again soon!

We stayed overnight and had 2 bedrooms booked No shower cap for shower Oat milk on tray to use for tea. Sorry it was disgusting and there was no other option We eat at restaurant downstairs. The service was good but we had to leave our meal as a customer went past us in his electric chair and his colostomy bag split open over floor next to us Would be good idea to at least give complimentary coffee or tea in restaurant for anyone E staying at hotel
The White Hart
4.2/522 Reviews
Every nook and cranny in The White Hart oozes grand antiquity and contemporary retrofitting has ensured comfort instead of a dated environ usually synonymous with aged structures. The White Hart hits the right buttons with tasteful decor and attention to details. There’re ‘gargles’ from old pipes probably and a cranky air-conditioner but I’m too tired to take note. I’m aware only because I’m a light sleeper. The only drawback was the overly long prep time for my breakfast, which I had to miss unfortunately due to a lack of time. Nonetheless the manager on duty exercised discretion for not charging me for a take-out lunch requested when I’m seated for breakfast.

The Waterfront Hotel Spa & Golf

Thank you so much for our Sunrise hideaway spa weekend,it was awesome from start to finish. I would just like to say how amazing the weekend break was, we really appreciated it and needed it,to destress. Being carer's we tend to ignore our own needs and concentrate on our loved ones. My daughter-in-law and I arrived on Sunday afternoon. Firstly, I must say, the decor of the Hotel looked calming & luxurious. The bedroom was really Luxurious & Spacious, with a mini bar super king comfortable bed and a little hand written card welcoming us with some chocolate's,a lovely personal touch. The Firepit restaurant felt very calming and relaxing with a great low music in the background to add to the atmosphere. The view out the large glass windows were stunning, the lake had a water fountain lite up, which was beautiful to watch. We really enjoyed our lovely dinner & Sweet. They even have a robot that serve's you dinner. We both had a lovely night sleep in the very large comfy deluxe superking bed. There was a great selection for Breakfast, which set us up for the day. We then went into the spa. The changing rooms where Clean & Fresh. All the facilities were great and we tried them all out. Steam room, sauna, salt room, chill out ice room. There are heated water beds and egg chairs inside the Quiet Area, which are so comfortable next to a fire. The pool was just perfect with bubbled jacuzzi and taps that massaged your back when you stood under them. A new bar at the side of the pool with waitress service. Loungers all around with heaters and blankets for if it's a little chilly. The temperature of the pool was hot and steaming which was lovley as it is October and a little chilly. I booked a back massage as i felt tight in my shoulders and in some pain. Clare the masseuse, gave me a very firm massage and was very good, the pressure was just right and she gave me a lot of tips on how to strengthen my back and relax my muscles, she was brilliant. The staff at the hotel were very attentive & Helpful. I will be returning, hopfully when Father Christmas brings me another spa package.

Check in time is 2pm we arrived at 1:30 pm and were told the room was ready and did we want to check. Obviously yes was our reply. We were then told there was a £10 early check in charge!!!!!!!!!!!!! Couldn't get more ridiculous that that. Later we checked in and the room was OK but quite spare and cold. Then to the restaurant which is no more than a PUB restaurant with menu to match and prices relating to a 5 star hotel. The wine prices were astronomical for the wine on choice. I think the lowest wine price was in the region of £28 which in Tesco is sold(retail at 37). The restaurant prices have a small print caveat with (an optional) service charge adde of 10%. This them makes the price of a bottle of wine around £30 (there is no service or added value that the hotel adds to the wine so why the service charge). Our second night we ate there the menu had been redacted to the Sunday carvery at 8pm. However they did have fish and chips(£14) and ”catch of the day” choice(16). I asked what the catch of the day was with the reply SEA BASS. I leave the reader to work this out. Sea Bass is a fish that gives itself up and can be found in plentiful supply on supermarket shelve and almost certainly at a lower price than Cod or the like. I don't think I need go on but there is plenty more to suggest that people should avoid this place
