Gubei Water Town William Edgar Hotel

Gubei Water Town, a 6 billion RMB investment, replicates the architecture of Wuzhen. The hotel is five-star, adorned with numerous old photos commemorating William Edgar's Great Wall journey. The staff offers warm and enthusiastic service, the dining is high-quality, and the rooms are comfortable. The outdoor pool is perfect for children to play in.

First time staying here, and overall, it was a good experience. The hotel has a charming blend of Chinese and Western styles and is ideally located within the scenic area of Shanshui City. The room was very spacious, and the facilities were quite good. Thumbs up!

The night view of the Water Town and the Great Wall from the room's balcony is the most comprehensive and beautiful – it's truly magical. Once you go downstairs, you can no longer see the illuminated Great Wall. I even tried climbing to the church at the top of the hill, the highest point in the Water Town, but still couldn't see the Great Wall's lights. The location of this room's balcony is absolutely fantastic!

I wholeheartedly recommend the Gubei Water Town William Hotel, it's truly the best resort hotel experience I've ever had! The hotel's location is superb, right in the heart of the water town, within walking distance to Water Street and Sun-Moon Island Plaza. Most room types feature floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies, offering direct views of the Simatai Great Wall as soon as you open them. In the evening, the water town's night lights are dazzling, and the courtyard pool is perfect for stunning photos. The ambiance is absolutely top-notch. The stay was incredibly comfortable. The room was spacious and clean, elegantly decorated, and the bedding was soft and skin-friendly, making for a wonderfully peaceful rest. The dining was also impeccable. Whether it was breakfast or the restaurant dishes, the flavors were rich and varied, ingredients were fresh, and both Chinese and Western options were available. I was very satisfied with the food. What truly touched me and deserves special praise is the service – thoughtful and warm, making me feel cared for throughout my stay. This time, I was traveling with my child, who unfortunately twisted their ankle. In a panic, I contacted the hotel. The staff immediately arranged a vehicle, and the hotel manager personally accompanied us, escorting us all the way to the medical office for examination and care. They were incredibly responsible and attentive, instantly putting me at ease. Upon checking out the next day, the hotel even thoughtfully packed breakfast for us, paying attention to every little detail. From check-in to check-out, the service was meticulous, considerate, warm, and responsible. I stayed comfortably, ate with peace of mind, and the service was beyond reproach. I genuinely recommend this hotel to families and anyone looking for a resort stay. I will definitely choose this place again when I visit Gubei Water Town next time!
