Had a wonderful stay at the Orchid. Staff were super friendly and attentive, they would check in on you everyday and provide suggestions and tips on local attractions based on your preferences. Room was clean and cosy with all the necessities and more. I wanted to stay in a hutong for this trip and so the location was perfect—nestled amongst local residences and businesses, yet close enough to tourist attractions. Would highly recommend. Also had 2 days of amazing middle-eastern inspired breakfasts at TOAST— one of their in house restaurants. Much better and more interesting than the usual hotel breakfast buffets.

A beautiful hotel! The staff and service were wonderful. Their amenities also wonderful. I loved that they had several restaurants and a bakery attached to the hotel along with a tea tasting room!

We are visiting from Australia and had a perfect time at the Orchid. We stayed in the Yang room, which was tastefully decorated and had its own private terrace with a gorgeous view of the Bell Tower. The staff helped us locate all of the best spots for traditional Beijing culture. The location is amongst the Hutongs and provides an escape from the hustle and bustle Beijing! Despite being so central, it was very quiet and peaceful! Telling all of our friends about the Orchid!

Ideal location for a stay in Beijing hutongs. Excellent food on-site, not too far away from cultural attractions.

Do not hesitate in booking this hotel! It was such an amazing experience: - great location (close to the Bell and Drum Towers, Shichahai Lake area, Nanluguoxiang area, and a ~20-30 min walk to Jinshang park) - a glimpse of the Hutong life - Western food options around (but also local dishes!) with a map provided by the team to show you the best spots around the area - Amazing check in/check out and staff support 24/7! - Book a longer stay! It gets booked quick ;)

Very quaint and authentic place to stay. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Food at all the restaurants and outlets attached to the hotel outstanding. Will definitely find an excuse to go back!

Have long been a fan of the Orchid and often visit the restaurants co located there - Toast and TBS are favourites. As such, with family visiting the Orchid was the obvious choice! An amazing location tucked in the Hutongs near the Bell and Drum towers. Both in the surrounding area and venue itself, spoilt for choice for food and restaurants. Room was cosy, clean and beautifully decorated. Two very friendly cats too. Staff genuinely fantastic and went above and beyond throughout our time there - thank you! The only fault - and reason for ranking amenities lower currently - is that there is significant work taking place at the reception (March 2025). I was aware of this having visited Toast in Feb however, had hoped this would’ve been completed by our stay and was disappointed at still being charged at the full rate given this disruption. In addition to a crowded check in / lack of communal space, this also meant rerouting through the restaurants (and up / down winding stairs), so one to note for anyone with accessibility requirements. Nevertheless a great stay and hope to be back again soon!

The service was excellent, and everything was clean and tidy. We were offered jasmine tea while we checked in, and got free pastries when we checked out. It had a lovely atmosphere, and we loved playing with the cats. Our courtyard room was lovely, nice bathroom, and very warm and comfy bed. We had a sky-light naive our beds which was such a treat. We unfortunately only had a chance to try the Mediterranean breakfast restaurant, but the Shakshuka we pre-ordered (due to our early departure) was the best I've ever had. My friend also loved that it was in a Hutong.

Amazing hotel!! Lovely huge room with a stunning view! So close to the bund and commercial shopping! The room itself was huge, tidy and we appreciated the top up of cold Coke and sprite each day! Front desk was amazing and we super appreciated the early check in after our 14 hour flight!! Thank you so much! Downside has nothing to do with the hotel however there is a group of people always lurking trying to sell you their fake products and won’t take no as an answer. As soon as we stepped out of the door we were approached every single time. But thats nothing to do with the hotel! Just something to be aware of.

We found The Orchid thanks to a recommendation from a friend who stayed here 10 years ago. For sure, this recommendation was marvellous! We had such an amazing experience in The Orchid. Having the opportunity to stay at a hutong has been incredible. The location is excellent! And the ladies in the hotel, they’ve been super friendly and helpful every time we needed. Definitely if we come back to Beijing, we’ll stay here again !

One of the loveliest lodgings I have experienced. The Orchid Hotel is a short walk from the bustling streets, yet it offers a peaceful retreat that feels like your own private oasis. The breakfast at either of their two restaurants is absolutely amazing! The bakery sells delicious bakes and they are hard to resist. The team running the lodging is a thoughtful bunch too. Knowing that I had to leave for the Great Wall at 6.50am, they made sure they had bakes and freshly brewed coffee for me to bring along for my day trip. The map provided by them is informative, thoughtful and extremely useful. Strongly suggest you take a good read and mark out the places you want to visit. Much appreciated Jihan and her team who have made the stay a very pleasant one.
