YiXi Place Siheyuan Hotel

A very beautiful hotel in the traditional Chinese style. The service is excellent, the breakfast is delicious, and the rooms are very well-maintained and furnished with attention to detail. If you want to experience old China, this is the perfect place.

⚠️ This was hands down the worst accommodation booking I've ever made, and also the most reviews I've ever written. Here's my genuine experience. 1. I paid good money thinking I'd be staying in a traditional courtyard house (Siheyuan), but that wasn't the case. The Siheyuan is just where you check in; the actual rooms are in a sunken courtyard next door. It was damp, teeming with mosquitoes, and the room was dark. I woke up with my whole body itching! It was genuinely very uncomfortable!!!! 2. The bathroom in the room was tiny. When you showered, water sprayed all over the toilet and floor. 3. The power suddenly tripped and went out in the middle of the night. My child was sweating profusely from the heat. 4. The Western breakfast, a ciabatta sandwich, wasn't good either; the ciabatta was soggy. On the upside, the location is great, just a few minutes' walk from Nanluoguxiang, and the service was relatively enthusiastic! Overall, it was a very disappointing stay. I do not recommend it. ❌❌

We brought the whole family to experience a traditional courtyard house, and both adults and children absolutely loved it. The courtyard is spacious, allowing us to move around and play freely. The environment is quiet, ensuring a peaceful and restful stay. The room was very clean, and all the amenities were complete. The location is convenient for getting around; we could walk to explore the surrounding hutong attractions. The guesthouse itself has an authentic, rustic charm and is very unique. It's perfect for a family looking for an immersive experience of local culture.

A hidden gem in the hutongs. Mornings are tranquil and peaceful, while evenings buzz with lively chatter and clinking glasses. There are two breakfast options, Chinese and Western. I've visited in different seasons, and it's beautiful every time.
