Reviews of Paoju Factory Youth Hostel (Beijing Summer Palace Subway Station Branch)

Pros : - Great location, near Yonghegong Lama Temple subway station and only one station from Dongzhimen Capital Airport Express subway station to Beijing Capital Airport -Only few minutes walk to Lama temple and easy to go around by subways line 2 and 5, buses and taxi - Local restaurants and a convenience store nearby - 24 hrs front office staffs with basic English speaking - Outdoor and indoor common areas - Softdrinks, beers, snacks, instant noodles for selling behind the check-in counter - Using a key card to enter the bedroom Cons : - No curtains on bunkbeds, not much privacy - Need to improve the cleanliness a little bit - Refrigerator to keep the guests' food is too small

I had a nice stay here. The stuff is frendly and helps you at any time. Some speak englisch others not but google translater will be anyways your best friend in china.

Even the dormitory with the private toilet has no toilet paper. WHY?

Pretty good location - room was quite nice. In a good part of Beijing- not that close to metro if you have luggage- so be prepared for walking.

Good place, nice hostel with a kind and supportive, friendly staff. Lot of international traveler to connect and make friendships with and make new travel companions.

Atmosphere is great but all the rest is equivalent to none…The dorms are super small , I had to move to another because in the first one there was not even space to put my clothes…No lockers, no towels provided…The bathroom on the dorm was getting flooded after showering…I wish I could rate better but has been the worst accomodation in 50 days during my travels in China…I moved to a private room paying extra 200 RMB and it was a joke…Smelly , no shower gel nor shampoo provided…The toilet was so small that I had to bend my head down while showering…Why I didn’t move ? During public holidays was booked out almost everywhere….

A bit expensive in comparison to others, but decently located and the hard-working staff was pretty nice. Bathrooms are good.

PROS: They speak English which was very nice and they can help you with the public transportation. Metro station is closed by. They have breakfast for addinional price which was a bit expensive but delicious. The WIFI worked well. They offer free luggage storage before check in/after chek out time. I will definetely book this hostel if I visit Beijing again. CONS: Some curtains would be nice for some privacy in the rooms. And some curtains for the doors as well because some doors have glass doors and the lights are coming through the doors during night time.

Location is most important to me. Hence, for the location alone, I’d recommend this place! However apart from the location, this place is still highly recommendable! 1. Clean rooms 2. Cool communal space 3. Helpful Staffs 4. You can buy drinks and ice-creams from the Hostel! Sometimes there are queues for the toilet and shower, but otherwise it was a great stay. Would stay here again if I am visiting Beijing.

I booked the room with window but the room overall looked like a prison. No natural light and no ventilation. The room smelled really bad. The reception could speak english but they were not really friendly

Location is convenient. Staff speaks english and helpful. Food, coffee, etc is readily available and affordable. Has unlimited hot water for drinking, microwave oven free to use, common area for eating or just hanging out. Shared room but did not expect it to be “THAT okay”! 😄 satisfied! Self service putting on bedsheets & duvet covers which is actually new for me but not a big deal! If you are carrying valuables, better not leave it in the shared room. I have a small luggage that has locks so no worries for me. There is a paid locker near the reception though if you don’t wanna roam around bringing important things. Not fancier than hotel but certainly best for solo travellers like me and also an opportunity to meet like-minded people. Would most probably come back! 🥰

Lovely hostel! Perfect for meeting people and having a nice conversation all day around. It is also in a very nice location, near a very lively street where roaming around is just very nice. The train is nearby and there are restaurants just around the corner. Staff is super helpful.

Hostel doesn’t have heater in lobby nor corridors. Wished there was more space to store personal items and a curtain for privacy.

The staff is really helpful. Is pretty friendly for foreigners and is a social hostel. Nevertheless, because of this it can be a little noisy at mornings or nights.
