Wyndham San Jose Herradura Hotel & Convention Center

We were prepared when booking this hotel from existing reviews by others. What happened turns out disappointing. The room on 2000 series on second floor seems an old unit, no shower floor towel, bath tub a bit old but functional, no fridge and so on. We were prepared for all that considering the price and location. At bed time, we found two bugs on bed linen but dusted them off. It's tropical atmosphere, what one expect! The next morning after breakfast, however, I found a few more on my bed. I pulled out a one of my credit card and killed a few. When pulled up my bed cover further, more showed up ...... See the bug in the video clip. I called front desk who sent a room services personnel to look at it. The personnel seems surprised to see the bugs as well. The front desk lady was nice and quick to act and changed my room to the room on 6000 series and okay with us. I requested to talk to their manager. Once back in late afternoon that day, I approached frondesk rep who went to backroom to fetch for the manager. The manager showed up in a while and apologized lightly, and started to push back by saying it's tropical weather here,bugs are normal, and many more. I told him that the room is infested too bad and need a thoughrou cleaning to eradicate the infestation. The manage then went on to explaining the same. I feel disappointed. For this hotel, I do not recommend this hotel until they do a good job. Or if you do like us, not exactly though, do make sure to ask the right question to avoid such a room. Good luck next time.

The most unorganised hotel I have ever been to. Check in is from 3pm and so we arrived at 4pm to be greeted to a huge queue of people unable to get their room as none of the cleaning was completed. Reception told us it would take 30 mins to get a room which was a complete lie. We kept going up and checking and they kept saying another 10 minutes which carried on for 2.5 hours at which time we only received the key to 1/4 rooms I had booked. Other guests we spoke to waited over 4 hours for their room key. We were given one soft drink as a concession for this which I thought was unacceptable. Instead of waiting around to be told further fake waiting times, we left the hotel to go back to town and then on returning at 11pm, the new receptionist had no idea about the issue and struggled to find our other rooms we had been waiting for, resulting in more waiting around after already being frustrated about the situation earlier. Eventually the receptionist from earlier appeared in a very dismissive manner and shoved a post it note with our remaining room numbers for the man to find. Not good service at all. The next day we booked a shuttle bus to the airport. We got to the designated spot and they had run out of room on the bus despite us pre booking. This means we had to wait another 30 mins for a bus to be organised resulting in us having less time at the airport to get through security etc. The actual hotel is fine with a nice pool area (one of the reasons we had booked but were unable to use due to no room access for hours on end) but the management of this hotel is atrocious. Wyndham need to look at this urgently as it is dragging down their name as a trusted hotel chain. I will never be staying at a Wyndham again if they can’t guarantee a stress free experience.

Hotel itself was average- had a unique layout of floors & rooms & we got lost & couldn’t find our room first night. Saw others checking in & getting maps of hotel but we got no map. Left something in our room when we checked out & have called twice about it as well as emailed. Have heard nothing back from hotel though they assured us they’d check and get right back to us.

The property does need some maintenance as many areas were in need of a paint touch up. The jacuzzi was not hot, and though this was told to staff there was no change in the temperature and no explanation as to why the temperature couldn’t be changed. The housekeeping staff were phenomenal.

It's nice , but one of the two restaurants have been closed and the second one does have. VERY. Limited choice

I stayed 3 days. Day 1 I realized that my room had spotty internet connectivity. I had to sit in the lobby to get WiFi. Day 2 I realized that the room did not have hot water for the sink. And there was not enough water pressure to get a spray out of the shower head. Showering was a drizzle of cold water on my head. Day 3 I would have enjoyed a nice cup of coffee, but the coffee maker in the room was broken. I tried calling down to the front desk, but the phone in the room was unplugged. When I plugged it in, the phone did not work. And to top if all off ... I discovered that I had been sharing my room with cockroaches. One of which was around my toothbrush.

Very long check in time! Room wasn’t ready for a long time. Manager was helpful compared to other employees. An upgrade was offered to compensate. The pools are nice and play table for chess. Overall stay was good other than check in.

The hotel is well known in the area, been in there I noticed that is looking old an depleted the service in general was average nothing special, the room was nice but old fashioned with a mix of elegant and ship appliances.

I was unable to turn off the AC in my room which was too cold for me. Everything else was great. Close to the airport.
