So we reached Belize City about 12 pm it was so hot my dad picked us up from the airport because he was already in Belize. My husband and I wanted to change because it was about 100 degrees out and we had on our winter stuff on. We reached the hotel about and requested would it be possible for us to have a early check in cause we just wanted to shower and settle in because we’ve been traveling since 3am NYC time, we were told NO and the room wasn’t ready but we could change our clothes in the hotel bathroom and leave our luggage behind the desk and whenever the room was ready they would send us a text and the luggage would be taken to our room and would be waiting for us. We agreed got changed our clothes in the hotel bathroom and left with my dad. We came back around 7pm that night no text and the luggage was never taken to our room. We was finally able to check in and take our own luggage to our room. We showered and came back down stairs to have dinner at the restaurant that’s in the hotel ….no authentic Belizean food and they food wasn’t good at all . Just of course over priced . My husband ordered Rasta pasta and got linguine with Alfredo sauce. We then decided to go to the pool because we were told the pool closes at 10pm ….we go to the pool my husband kept saying this pool filter is not working so we stayed in the pool for about 5 minutes. The room was lovely but of course no refrigerator or microwave. A lot of space so that’s why we were surprised it didn’t have at least one. The next day we came down and had breakfast. Typical American breakfast you really can’t go wrong with pancakes and French toast. We didn’t stay at the hotel this day we went to San Pedro . When we came back to following day we notice they had finally put up signs that the pool was out of service . So basically we were swimming in dirty water . I asked the front desk did they have a microwave . Of course they didn’t. I think this hotel would be fantastic if they did the entire menu over . It was very clean and it smelled good so it wasn’t any complaints about that. The food was just lousy and over priced and the check in was not very helpful at all.

This is a beautiful place to lodge. Despite the renovation occurring across from the main building the hotel still was immaculate and an over all great vibe. The staff from the moment you arrive were pleasant friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend if staying in Belize City

Complaint is about the online booking system. Credit card was charged for room as I booked the day I checked in, however, hotel did not receive payment. Seems it is being processed by Ultimate Vacations out of Miami and they are sketchy to say the least. Ultimate Vacations then charged my card another amount and is in the process of cancelling that second charge. The hotel then charged my card for the room that I had paid for six days after I stayed there. And we are going back and forth on emails despite me sending copies of all of the documents in the first email. What a mess and disappointment.

We had a wonderful stay here but experience will vary based on your expectations. We chose this hotel as our base for going on multiple excursions to multiple areas of central Belize. This worked well for us as the hotel has a wonderful concierge service and a dedicated and helpful transportation team. We were easily able to get to the ruins at Xunatunich, the cave kayaking adventure and out to Caye Caulker for snorkeling. This saved us from renting a car which is a blessing as driving in Belize is not for the faint of heart. If you are looking for an adventure like ours, the Hotel is perfect. If you are looking for a tropical resort with a beach in a swanky tourist area with lots of boutique shops and restaurants, this is not it. But then such a place does not exist in Belize City. The Radisson Fort George is located right next to the cruise ship terminal and the ferry terminals for Caye Cauker and San Pedro which is an advantage but the neighborhood, in general has seen better days. We found it safe though shabby but some may find it uncomfortable. The Radisson Fort George is in the middle of a major renovation and upgrade and I expect that it will eventually be fabulous. It is not there yet but we found our room in the 'new wing' to be spacious, airy, clean and well appointed. It had a balcony overlooking the sea which we did not use much because we were on the move most of the time. This area of the hotel has a nice open patio space and a dipping pool. The original side has a larger pool with a café. Positive things about the hotel: 1. The staff is very friendly and helpful without being intrusive or obsequious. 2. The dedicated transportation crew is very helpful and friendly. 3. The concierge was quite good at her job. 4. It is locate near the ferry and cruise ship terminals Negative things about the hotel: 1. The neighborhood is shabby though under renovation. 2. You will need to take a cab to get to the better restaurants 3. Housekeeping was spotty. 4. Rooms vary based on whether you are on the 'new' or the 'old' side. How to maximize the experience at this hotel: 1. Be clear about your expectations, if you are looking for a 'resort' look elsewhere 2. Request a room on the 'new' side. 3. Expect to use transportation services for restaurants. Martha's next door is okay but the rest will need a taxi. If this review helped you make a decision, give me a 'helpful' vote.

A beautiful hotel with ocean on two sides. It is being re-built and it is very nice! The Treehouse restaurant is also very good. Walking distance to downtown shops. We scheduled a day of fishing and they met us at the pier in front of the hotel making it very easy!

We did not stay at the hotel. It looked lovely and smelled amazing. I know that is strange. But it reminded me of the One Hotel in Miami as far the scent. We stumbled upon the Treehouse and had the most amazing food and drinks. I think we stayed between and 1.5 to 2 hours and had to ask for the check. The setting was beautiful. Do not miss this restaurant if you are in Belize City. I wish I could review under restaurants but it is too new.

Sadly I can’t give a great review… the room was quite dingy and we fought like crazy to get the door to actually shut and lock. The back patio furniture was ripped and dirty and the overall service was not as good as we have seen elsewhere. It is close to the marina however and water taxis which was pretty convenient. The little coffee house had incredible service and quality pastries and the back seating was nice. The Treehouse grill was new and quite pretty but overpriced and food quality was below average in comparison to local cuisine we experienced. The shuttle driver back to the airport was very nice and price of shuttle was the same as the taxis. We will likely not be back as there are other accommodations that would be more for the money.

Hotel is clean, staff super friendly, rooms quiet, beds good, restaurant great food. Bathroom facilities great, bed linens and beds comfy, towels super thick and soft. Good place to spend a night while waiting for a transfer to a resort.wouldl stay here again if waiting for next transfer

This is one of the most expensive hotels in the country but will be worth it to many. The hotel is located on the water next to the Baron Bliss monument. There are some very nice suites on the top floor that overlook the Caribbean. Other rooms also have nice views. There is a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, plus an outdoor bar that serves food. The hotel can arrange any tour you might want. Located not far from the water taxi terminal (to go out to the cayes) and the Belize Museum, which has the largest collection of Maya artifacts in the country.
