So happy I only booked for the one night. When I did checkin I was told that it was impossible for me to have made the booking as they were fully booked already, despite me having prepaid. Eventually got a room. The hotel had a teeny tiny tv with no options. There wasn’t even water left in the room. The room looks like it was decorated in the 90s and never updated. Didn’t even bother with breakfast cause I just wanted to get out. Not what I was expecting at this price point.

The breakfast was varied and satisfying. The stairs inside were steep, which was a bit worrying! The kitchen had a slight smell, but the bathroom was clean.

The service was average, but the location was good. Because there weren't many customers, once a room was booked, it couldn't be cancelled or changed. It wasn't a very good experience; I wouldn't recommend staying there.

The whole team is amazing!! Led by Mti i want to single out Ruth at the reception and Khaya at the restaurant. Everyone went out of their way to make my stay so memorable. I am definitely coming back when next in town

I stayed here whilst in Cape Town and loved it. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are really spacious. There's a bar/restaurant that does specials every day and the food is very good. It also has a happy hour and I can vouch for the Windhoek lager there too. Security is very rigorous and there's easy access to the nearby road network. The staff are super friendly and made my stay feel special. The hotel needs an elevator but that is my only minor quibble. I would definitely stay here again.

The ambience is good and better than its sister hotel down the road in Tyger Valley. BUT do not land up in the "attic" (called politely an"an apartment" I believe) as there is no shower and you can hardly stand up in the bathroom because of the roof trusses. The food menu and (local) wine list is comprehensive. The breakfast is very good as is the service!

From the time of booking to the time of check out, I experienced excellent service. I recommend this hotel - room was spacious, queen size comfortable bed with crisp white linen and towels. The room opened onto an individual deck, offering a space to soak up the sun. Breakfast hours from 6.30 - 10.30 am, in case one wants to sleep in. The buffet caters for all - the waffles and crumpets with fresh cream were divine. All the staff that we interacted with were amazing, special mention of Luko and Kaya, and then special kudos to Ruth who went over and beyond to assist us with transport. Ruth definitely delivered the Protea promise. The Tyger Valley Mall is a 10 minute drive away, with the D' Aria wine farm 6 minutes away. Entry to the hotel grounds is covered via a security check point. Improvements to the evening food menu is needed and the size of the shower. I suggest having either a bath or a shower, thereby making the shower cubicle more spacious.

Stayed over for Two Oceans Marathon on the weekend. Very good service. All staff are friendly and helpful. Clean. Good sports channels. Located near the wine farms and airport. Excellent breakfast. We will always return. Value for money.

Weekend getaway ,there food was nice ,everyday specials on there menus Very affordable,friendly staff and love there pizza special on Friday night drinks aswell buy 1 get 1 free ,there rooms were very nice and clean and comfortable, definitely will come back

The room we were in the aircon did not work. The front of house staff did not bother to assist, the maintenance person assisted more and was sorting out the finer details of the room change. We constantly had to update our room cards to gain access to rooms throughout our stay. We received sub standard service from the front desk as no-one was able to sort out the billing issues we had.

We recently celebrated our anniversary at Protea Hotel Durbanville, and I can't express enough how wonderful our experience was, thanks to General Manager Shericka and her exceptional team. From the moment we checked in, we felt welcomed and valued. Shericka's attention to detail and genuine care for her guests truly stood out. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, ensuring that every aspect of our weekend was memorable. The restaurant team was particularly fantastic, serving us with warmth and enthusiasm that added a personal touch to our dining experience. I stayed there for a week. I took my mom for her 70th birthday. It was a very pleasant stay. The hotel was very nice I stayed in the 2 level suite which was amazing. Only thing there is only 1 small tv in the living room. Other than that the food, the staff, the neighborhood, the city I give all a 10/10 I would definitely go back and stay. I will return Berry :)
