I have stayed at the country comfort on many occasions and have enjoyed my stay. Reception staff, attentive and kind, answering questions and explaining thing's. This trip was oddly different. We were met by a woman who was abrupt, unhelpful and lacked the usual high standards previously used to to when staying at country comforts.
A clear example was when I approached recepton. To ask for an extra blanket. The receptionist named Rebecca came out. Ignored me looked through me and continued to answer the phone. ,No,. Sorry ill be with you in a minute....no clarification I was even in existence. Once, I can forgive as being busy, but total mis alignment of priorities, unfortunately happening 6 times in a row. No explanation, was looking me up and down and through me whilst speaking to people on the phone and made absolutely no effort to prioritise the visitor staying in the motel, standing in Front of her. To me I felt, not heard, not seen and felt if was down right rude that a phone call took priority over a guest standing In front of her waiting to be served. The entire time took over 7 minutes and continued before I decided to walk away due to the lack of response from the receptionist, and humiliation of being treated in such a way when I was merely asking a simple question
I felt i was an appalling way to treat a guest, one who has stayed there over 5 times in. The last year. We also eat in the restaurant and use local facilities to support the hotel.
The woman named Rebecca. Lacked social skills, eye contact, wearing dishevelled clothing, hair was greasy, half dyed and scraped back., chipped bright red nail polished and had a total lack lutre approach to her position, job and working with people in general. Her presentation was minimal along with her attitude.
The experience has me feeling unsure about future stays at the country comfort, the lack of interest in staff towards guests, lack of competence and effort left me feeling deflated and unwelcome.
Room/cleaning service had also gone down hill, when we pulled back our fresh bed, to find crisp crumbs scattered between the sheets.
I have furthermore left very positive reviews in the past for this hotel, which is why I was so shocked. its recent decline. I hope this goes some way In Providing training, service and guest management to work towards lifting the hotels game in the future.
