Food was poor, confit of pork, cost £25 and was a small (less than 2 inch square of belly pork.one mouthful of meat, some fat and some inedible rind masquerading as cracking. Complaint gave a derisory discount of £2.50. Other meal of pie was also . poor. Other meals may be ok but this was beyond disappointing. Pork belly is a cheap cut of meat a decent portion ishould be served for that money. We really like the place so feel so let down.

Didn’t quite live up to its reviews as far as I was concerned. Very good food but not very much of it, the starters were very lite to say the least. Staff were in short supply, no Lemon or Ice behind the bar, the whole thing didn’t quite meet the price point they charge.

We visited for Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. Such a great place full of character. On arrival the bar staff were very friendly and welcoming. The beer was decent and reasonably priced. Food was divine, I would highly recommend the Steak and Guinness pie. Can't have any complaints about this place, staff are amazing as is the food. Great service and really well priced. The views outside are pretty good as well!

We had a lovely time at the Bear. It’s a 500year old coaching inn, and has a charming, idiosyncratic character. It’s family run, and everyone was so helpful, and informative. The food was excellent, and food intolerances were well catered for. Our thanks to Wendy, Sarah & Chris, and, of course, Sherrine.

Something is off with the food. Chips tasted strange. At first glance the presentation looked as normal as before but on first bite I started having a stomachache. The chips looked like freshly cut wedges but tasted really bad and the food wasn’t great. In the old days the bear inn had great chefs and you could tell. They need to change the cook. It takes one disappointing meal and people just won’t go again.
