Hotel la Fonda

we booked an overnight stay at the last minute at 10pm on the same day as we were supposed to use the room at 11pm and we got the best service, when we arrived. this made us choose to book one more night the next day

we booked two rooms side by side. one room was infested with bedbugs and the associated foul smell. we were not relocated to a clean room.

Stayed for three nights and I have to say everything was perfect the room the breakfast the staff from start to finish we had a wonderful time we will be booking soon to go back but next time we will stay longer a big thank you to everyone

The hotel can only be discribed as different and interesting in its layout plus the views from the terrace and restaurant are a joy

Such a beautiful hotel and local area. This is where you want to go if you want some peace and relaxation and want to feel like you are in Spain rather than Britain in the sunshine as it is on the coast. The hotel and rooms are lovely. The first room we were offered was not to our liking as it faced the lift and had no privacy as the only windows went on to the walkway. We were quickly offered an alternative which was more suitable. The pool is quiet and we always got loungers when we wanted them. There are lots of lovely places to eat within minutes of the hotel, you'll never go hungry. Just to note, it is a long way from the beach, it is up in the hills in the village. There is no night life or entertainment locally, it's just restaurants, nowhere to go for a sing or a dance and no live entertainment. We took advantage of Ubers that weren't too expensive. It would be nice if the hotel had something on in the evenings, a singer or some dancers. There is a space that would be ideal and I wonder if they did this in the past. The staff were friendly but not very knowledgeable when we asked questions about car hire and things to do in the local area, we had to work things out for ourselves. We had a lovely holiday and would recommend the hotel as it's spotless and felt like a real Spanish experience. The breakfast was fantastic too. If you want a relaxing break then don't hesitate to book here.

We have returned to this beautiful boutique hotel after we visited here 5 hrs ago. Here are the good points, staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is of a really good standard and lots of choice. Location is excellent and you have lots of bars and restaurants around you in the heart of beautiful pueblo. The hotel is quiet and secluded however, the end of august is really busy celebrating the Arabian festival therefore the narrow streets are heaving! Things to be aware of, the website pictures are very misleading! The hotel is very tired and is very overdue an upgrade/modernisation. The breakfast chairs are shabby and torn, the towels provided for the pool area and spa (which is now closed) are tatty and torn full of bleach stains! The majority of the fixtures snd fittings do not work ie. Fountain in foyer, water features. The foyer bar is never open and it looks dark and lifeless! There is no bar open however you con order drinks from the restaurant. Pre covid you would class this as s boutique hotel but now it is far from this unfortunately but still commanding the same price as a boutique hotel. We are enjoying our stay but would consider alternative hotels in the future.

Beautiful hotel with character . Staff so friendly Breakfast amazing and rooms so comfortable

We found this hotel by accident just wondering around Benalmadena Pueblo and decided to stay; it is without a doubt one of the most beautiful hotels ever, very Spanish at its best! Our room was spacious and had a lovely big double bed with a window and French window overlooking the old town and down to the sea. It also had a nice bathroom and was very clean. The only fault was the heating just did not cope with the cold evening of winter and they need supplementary heating. One really sad thing is, the café/bar was shut due to winter, yet there were loads of tourists wandering in that would have loved to sit and have a drink. Either the hotel is open or not. We also ate at the restaurant, that too was freezing, and although our main meal was really good, the starters and deserts choice was ridicules. Items like ‘special Spanish soup’ cold tomato soup, in a freezing restaurant, in winter, come on chef get your act together and do some cooking. We were so cold we never bothered to have a cold desert and went to our room to sit around the hair dryer. Would we stay again, yes, its simply beautiful, but not in winter, and to eat we would go to a restaurant where the chef likes to actually cook.
