The whole purpose of our visit to Benidorm, and to this hotel was because of the TV Show Benidorm, which used the pool area for a lot of its scenes. Whilst I know it has been some time since the series began (and finished), I doubt we will be the last to visit because of the show. Check-in was a smooth process, with the traditional hotel wristbands issued. We were also provided with a handy guide to times etc showing what was available and when. Room: Our room was on the twelfth floor and was clean and comfortable. The room had comfortable beds, a fridge, a safe (additional charge) an en-suite bathroom, heating/air conditioning, and a balcony with a pool view (we also just about had a sea view). As with most of the Med areas we have stayed, the room had a solid tiled floor, which is great for managing the heat but does little to mask any noise. Thankfully, whilst we did hear the occasional vocal residents leaving and returning at night (morning?), it wasn't as bad as it could have been. This may have been due to the lateness of the season, which also meant we had little need for the air conditioning, despite it still being about 20 degrees in the evening. Booking a pool view was well worth it, as it meant we also got the very last of the evening sunshine. I suspect the rooms on the other side would have been somewhat cooler by the evening. I would say it is worth the uplift to benefit from the sea view. There were some superior rooms available for an extra cost - I didn't spot this until the end of our holiday - I would have liked to see what they were like. Maybe next time... Restaurant: Breakfast: Breakfast was the usual buffet affair, with a wide selection of choices from cereal, bread and rolls, fresh honey on the frame (which I found rather novel, but I understand quite the norm), bacon, eggs, pancakes, cold meats, and cheese, etc. I would have thought there was something for everyone. Lunch: We only had lunch one day, and I think it was a similar affair, but can't really remember. We typically skipped or had something from the snack bar. Snack bar: I think this was only for all-inclusive, but there wasn't anything to prevent anyone else I suspect lunch was a similar choice - we didn't make use of that other than one day - we preferred to stay around the pool and use the snack bar. Here they had a selection of fruits, cheeses, cold meats, salad, olives, and crisps as well as hot foods such as hot dogs, pizza, chips, etc. Evening: The evening meal was again a buffet choice. I did tire a bit of this and craved table service, so we ate out one evening. They had different choices most evenings, with some static choices of salads, cold meats, and cheeses. One night had a fabulous seafood choice - if only I wasn't intolerant to some shellfish. I was quite envious of those able to indulge! Bars: The pool bar was open from 10:30-17:30 with a wide selection available. We'd opted for all-inclusive, so no need to worry about additional costs.
