Riverside Inn Fuji

This guest house is a must for any one visiting Bentota. its set in a beautiful location overlooking the lake a very peaceful location to relax and recharge your batteries. The hosts are very welcoming and so helpful they are there on hand any time of day. The breakfast is delicious served on the patio over looking the lake. If you are going to the beach its a good 20 minute walk or you can easily take a Tuk Tuk which I would recommend. The best place we ate was at pier 88 directly across the lake from Fuji easily accessed in a TukTuk would certainly recommend a visit there. All in all great place with great hosts.

The place was calm - beautiful garden and view - rooms were large and very clean - bathroom was modern with a great shower - beds were comfortable - hosts were friendly - breakfast was delicious A wonderful place in Sri Lanka. We loved our stay here.

So calm and peaceful, you can dissolve yourself in there. The resort is located right on the beautiful river and it drowns in green nature, that is all around. It is a full relaxation for your body and your mind. The rooms and bathrooms are high quality, clean, bed is so comfortable, it has everything you need and even more. You can see that people really care about this place. I only regret I didn't stay there longer, but I needed to continue the journey. I will definitely come back again.

Stayed with Kumara and his family for three nights. What sets this guest house apart from others is the waterside location. The garden is next to the lagoon so the views are quite magical. You can have breakfast in the garden or on the balcony with great views. Watch the fishermen, tourist boats and wildlife. There is a water monitor who suns himself on the deck and mongoose run across the garden, birds are plentiful so if you like wildlife this is a good spot. It was also quiet here and only a short tuk tuk ride to the main beach area. Rooms are clean and spacious with balconies, we did have some problems with the AC which is a little ancient but it was fixed after the first day. Some small things in the rooms could do with updating for the price but not really a big problem. Breakfast was excellent and we did dine in one night, the homemade rice and curry was lovely. We were recommended to Rochan for all our local tuk tuk needs and we used him for the entire time we were in the area. He was fantastic, picking us up whenever we needed without fuss and only charging fair prices. Lovely kind charming host who went out of his way to ensure we had a good stay, highly recommended place to stay if you are in the Benotota area.

I really loved my stay at Fuji. The owners are so friendly and welcoming, I really felt at home during the 10 days I stayed here. The place is super safe and perfect for women traveling alone. The rooms are spacious, the view over the river beautiful. I loved my balcony and the breakfast. Highly recommended!! My home away from home ＜3

This my second time here in Riverside Inn Fuji Bentota. And I spent 27 days. I had the most delicious breakfast and dinner everyday. I like how calm and quite this place and also I love the fact that everything is so clean( the hotel, garden , especially the room). This is a great place to relax. Really satisfying. Without a doubt I'm visiting this place next time.

Choosing Sri Lanka as the destination for our joint birthday holiday, my daughter and I ended our first week of touring with a second week to relax in Bentota. As two female travellers, personal safety was important to us and this small, family-run Riverside Inn seemed to fit the bill. We arrived to a clean, cool and very spacious room with two big beds, floor to ceiling windows, lots of lighting, storage space, a fridge, celing fans, air-con and a private balcony with an impressive view across the river and overlooking the immaculate garden, which the family are up early tending to every morning. The hosts are a very welcoming couple who invited us to dine with them and offered any advice or services, including Tuk-Tuks, airport transfers and even medical assistance, if needed, at preferential local rates, as they are locals and well connected in the area. Fresh and generous breakfast served whilst surrounded by wild, flowering trees, tropical birds, mongoose, squirrels and a friendly cat. On days we were inside working online, the lady brought complimentary papaya juice to our room and checked-in with us. The gate is locked at night so the property is very secure and the family live in the other half of the building and will greet you as you go out and when returning home, so great security especially for female travellers, like a home from home. At night, we watched the fireflies from the balcony during dramatic thunder and lightening storms which were always followed by hot, sunny days. The inn is also child-friendly and after a few days on the daily walk to Bentota, families from neighbouring houses and shopkeepers waved at us when passing in the friendly neighbourhood. When our flight was cancelled due to airport strikes, our hosts were very accommodating in letting us stay an extra five days for a great rate, saving us the time and trouble of moving elsewhere and providing us with a wake-up call and breakfast before our flight home. If you want a tranquil place and space to chill out, a safe haven and to be looked out for in Bentota by a friendly and helpful family, whilst also staying a 10 minute walk from the waves at Bentota beach, you couldn’t do better than to stay here.

I have visited Sri Lanka maybe three or four times. By far, this place is one of the best places I have stayed at. Wifi, Location, River view, and the breakfast. The Staff there are something else. They are the best of the best. They made me feel like a king.

The best place to stay in Sri Lanka. The owners, Sanjaya and his wife, are one of the kindest people we met there, helping us plan more exciting things to do in Sri Lanka. The rooms are extremely spacious and comfy. The bathrooms are so luxurious, they’re extremely clean. They gave us some delicious, authentic Sri Lankan food for breakfast. We only stayed there for two days and those were probably the most comfortable days we had in our visit to Sri Lanka. There is even a boat ride, which Sanjaya helped us organise, and it was amazing. We got to see the beautiful scenery and hold some cute, baby crocodiles. If you ever want to visit Sri Lanka, I highly recommend the best place to be is at Riverside Inn Fuji when visiting Bentota, the inn is absolutely wonderful to stay at.
