The hotel exceeded expectations. For two adults and two children, we paid an extra $15 per child for breakfast, totaling $30. Perhaps our expectations were too low after our first night at another five-star hotel. We hadn't set high standards for this local hotel, but the actual experience was quite good. The service was attentive, there were several swimming pools, and the view of the entire Indian Ocean was breathtaking. Our room was on the first floor, with a balcony door leading directly to the pool. There was also a billiards room and a decent restaurant. The bed was about 2.4 meters wide, providing ample space for a family of four, and we slept very comfortably. If you're lucky, you can catch a stunning sunset. Overall, we were satisfied and would recommend it.

They initially assigned us a room on the second floor, but I later realized my room should actually be on the first floor. They were going to change it for us the next day, and I checked—it was in a rather secluded corner. We didn't want to unpack our luggage, so we didn't bother. The first floor has a large garden that leads directly to the swimming pool. The service was quite good.

A great hotel for those seeking peace and privacy. It's authentic, neat, and very cozy. The rooms aren't very large, but they have everything you need. The staff is very polite. The guests are mostly older Germans. This was our second hotel; we weren't looking for peace and quiet, so we only spent two days here. And it was wonderful: peace and quiet, walks along the beach, wonderful massages, and delicious dinners. Yes, the hotel food is delicious, home-cooked Sri Lankan food. On our first day, we went to eat nearby at the fish restaurant 33, which was also delicious. But the hotel food was truly delicious and even a little more affordable.

A wonderful hotel, although not new, the ocean is visible from all over the territory and rooms) delicious breakfasts and smiling staff! The room had everything you needed. We saw a cockroach in the room once, but this is normal for such a country and climate... it was certainly not pleasant and it’s good that we already went on an excursion 😄

Отличный отель! Дружелюбный и вежливый персонал, великолепная территория отеля, очень достойная кухня. Провели тут 11 ночей и отлично отдохнули душой и телом. Можно лежать на лежаке у бассейна и ходить от него до океана, идти минуту. Пляж хороший, но сильные волны и опасные, для детей не совсем подходит. Взрослым надо также быть внимательными и не заходить дальше чем по пояс, при нас начало уносить 7 человек, доставали спасатели. Но зато на волнах всегда весело попрыгать, если соблюдать осторожность. Для разнообразия на пляже взяли занятие по серфингу, с первого занятия получилось оседлать волну, рекомендуем попробовать. Тренера хорошие, но они не от отеля, пляж общественный. При бронировании беспокоило упоминание ж/д дороги рядом, боялись что будет шумно. В итоге проживали в номере 227, который в отзывах упоминался как шумный. Скажу честно, проблем с этим не было, иногда слышно, но ни разу не просыпались от этого ночью, скорее как фоновый шум, к которому привыкаешь и не замечаешь. И это с учетом того, что я чувствителен к шуму. Переживать из-за этого точно не стоит. В целом отель и территория даже превзошли наши ожидания, на фото все кажется каким-то более скромным. Вокруг отеля делать абсолютно нечего, погулять особо негде. В городе за мостом полно прилипал и обстановка так себе. В общем, крайне рекомендуем для семейного спокойного отдыха, с фокусом на океан и отдых у бассейна, без активных прогулок по городу и тусовок.

When we arrived at this amazing Hotel .It blew us away. The room 115 WOW WOW.The space . the bed the storage and the bathroom all very high standard. The dining experience was brilliant from the main dining room (buffet style) if you cannot find anything to eat there you are far to fussy. The staff from all departments are 1st class. I have to mention Mr Indunil. Who my wife and I thin that he is one of the most amazing people we have ever met. My wife had an accident ( no drink involved) but it required hospital and surgery. Mr Indunil ensured that were looked after at all times of the day or night he was there to assist . With packed meals and transport. His company have an excellent employee. But that is not enough the man is an absolute gent and a great credit to his company and very well respected by all the staff; Also the the house Doctor was a great help as well organising and advising . I am going to put up some pictures of staff and the Hotel I probably missed a few but ALL the staff are excellent in their jobs. We will return.I am running out of great things to say because I will just keep repeating the same stuff. If you want great memories of a great holiday Go to THAALA I have probably missed out a few things but sorry that but it was a fantastic holiday provided by fantastic led by great management. Our stay at Taala Bentota was simply amazing. From the moment we arrived, we felt so warmly welcomed. The special Kandyan drummer performance and the lovely flowers from the reception made it the best welcome we have ever had at any hotel. Check-in was the fastest I have experienced in a Sri Lankan hotel, and even the welcome drink and refreshing wet towels were served in record time. The staff were exceptional, always smiling and genuinely friendly. A special mention to Hansaji from the front office, who was incredibly warm and helpful throughout our stay. Even when we were leaving, most of the front office staff came out to see us off, which was so heart-touching. The food was absolutely delicious. While the spread was not as large as some other 5-star hotels, every dish was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. We enjoyed every bite. Overall, Taala Bentota gave us a stay to remember, and we would return in a heartbeat.

We were given a very professional and warm welcome by the hotel team at the entrance of the hotel lobby. The entire staff was very welcoming with a very friendly smile, and they were very attentive to detail. We started the day with lunch, wow, what a spread of Sri Lankan food with Western combination done as a buffet. The lunch buffet setup was superbly done in a well-presented manner. Too much yummy food, guys, no way you can try all the varieties on offer in one meal, it will take the whole day in my opinion. The warm weather around Thaala Bentota was perfect for this special day, where all had a blast with fun and laughter, with a lot of things you can do while you are in the hotel. The room given to us was perfect, by the beach, great view, fresh sea breeze 24/7. At night, you go to sleep listening to waves breaking during the night. The beauty of the hotel garden facing the sea is very special. They have Undupiyaliya or Beggar **** grass mixed garden, which I was told when you walk barefoot in the morning with dew formation of early mornings on the said grass, and Undupiyaliya bare foot is a very healthy habit and good for your Body and eyesight. Do give it a try. Walking barefoot on Undupiyaliya (also known as Beggar **** or Desmodium triflorum) is widely considered healthy in traditional practices like Ayurveda, particularly for its potential benefits related to eye health and grounding as per native medicine practices in Ceylon. Our gratitude to General Manager Rohan and Room Division Manager Dilina and his lovely, amazing Thaala team for giving us love and care till we departed from the hotel. The hotel's main lobby is its main public area, and the WC area for guest use was very spacious, very welcoming and kept scrupulously cleaned. The hotel was differently able guest-friendly as per observations. The buffet area was kept very clean at the premises. Plates were kept in Plate warmers, well covered. Hand sanitisation points were provided in the restaurant for guests to use. Food was excellent, and the buffet had a great spread as per our observation. Hot food was kept warm, and cold food was kept in an A/C Cold glass cubicle, well presented. Desserts were kept in a separate A/C room during lunch service. Good to observe the action stations live cooking freshly done as per guest request during each meal period. Very spacious garden for the guest to relax at any given time during the day or night, with a lovely fresh sea breeze at all times. The premises are kept very clean and well presented. Landscape is kept very well presented as well. The Team Thaala were very polite, very loving and willing to go the extra mile to help the guest at all times, which is quite an amazing quality seen by the entire hotel team. The hotel team was exceptional in assisting us during our entire stay. The Thaala team, in my opinion amazing and brilliant bunch of professionals who work very hard to give their guests the best ever hotel experience
