Exceptional service from beginning to end, very graciously catered for some last minute changes, the staff are very warm and welcoming. The room was traditional Japanese style with balcony, spacious with an exceptional view of Beppu Bay. The package included a wonderful dinner and breakfast at the hotel dining rooms. There is an onsite public bath and private bath rooms can be reserved too. Located near Kitahama for easy access to transit options, a perfect place for your stay in Beppu.

It's relative old but traditional Japanese style living place, located nearly the sea. There are two different side of views which is to sea or to the tower, both are nice. I personally really enjoy the 4-day-stays here, it's tranquil and made you feel peaceful. Just to remind that cleaning service is so so, but I'm fine with it~

The location itself is great! Elderly staffs were so welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was superb! But the room was kinda old and slightly rusty else is a great hotel !

Overall experience of staying at Seikaiso was very good. The location is close enough to the Beppu station(walking distance 10mins) and bus terminal is 2mins away. The best experience of this Ryokan is the hot springs and private bath on the rooftop. Breakfast is served per room on booking time with Japanese style breakfast. It was various dishes and delicious! The front staff/restaurant staff/general staff are all friendly and helpful. Especially at the front desk staff Urabe was amazing. He also speak good English so it was very helpful. He helped us everything what we need. 🙏🏼 We will definitely go back to Seikaiso again.

Very reasonable price

I recommend staying in a Japanese-style hot spring hotel in Beppu, with one night and two meals. The dinner here is very rich, and the breakfast is also Japanese, which is quite ordinary. Be sure to book a sea view room so that you can watch the sunrise in the room in the morning. The Japanese-style rooms are not very different. The balcony window of 405 where I stayed was small, and the bathroom was blocked by a chair, which made it inconvenient to enter and exit. The window of 403 where my family lived was very large, just like the hotel pictures, and the view of the exterior was very wide, but the bedroom area was smaller than 405, which had both advantages and disadvantages. The sixth floor of the hotel is a public bath, separated by men and women. When I went there around 11 o'clock in the evening, there was no one inside, which was equivalent to a private bath. The seventh floor is a private bath, with several private rooms, which can be reserved when checking in. It costs 1,000 yen for 45 minutes, and you can watch the sea while soaking in the hot spring. When checking in, the front desk was a middle-aged Japanese man with a good attitude, and I did not encounter the bad attitude mentioned in the comments. However, this hotel requires you to make your own bed, which is extremely rare in Japanese hotels. The service in other places is not enthusiastic either. The overall service is not in place, and there is no service that a Japanese hotel should have. In addition, it is recommended not to book this hotel too far in advance. Other hotels in Japan are more expensive the later you stay, but this hotel is cheaper the later you stay. I finally booked a room for about 600 yuan cheaper than the previous one. Fortunately, I often checked the price and canceled and rebooked twice, each time cheaper than the last time, otherwise I would have been cheated.
