The location of the hotel is very good. You can overlook the Alps surrounded by clouds and mist from the top. Good service is a major feature of Kempinski, from the apple juice at check-in, the enthusiasm of the man carrying the bag, to the detailed introduction of the lady at the front desk. Does not reflect the guest-first philosophy. The hotel room has a balcony with a mountain view, and the buffet in the restaurant has one of the widest variety of teas I have ever seen in a hotel, which shows that the Germans are meticulous and rigorous in doing things. The only regret is that the TV series is relatively old and does not have a screen projection function, but with such beautiful scenery, there should be no time to look at the phone.

Kempinski met all my expectations for a hotel! The bed was very comfortable and I felt like I slept until 5 o'clock. The air in the mountains is particularly fresh, so of course you need to drive to the hotel. There is fresh milk for breakfast, which is the first time I drink it. The price is a bit expensive, but definitely worth it! It takes about 15 minutes to drive from King Lake. The front desk service is very good. They will answer your calls patiently even after 11 o'clock in the evening. This is very important to me.

We stayed there for 3 nights. About May Day. A nice hotel. Best location, quiet, beautiful view of the mountains. Berchtesgaden is not far away. In winter I would pack snow chains, especially if you don't have all-wheel drive.😆
We had a room with a terrace. Room was large, no long distances, very friendly and competent service. Breakfast excellent. Dinner was also good in terms of taste and service. Just as it should be in a 5 star hotel.
Criticisms:
- Parking is charged extra. In my opinion it should be included in the price. At least open-air parking. The parking service is positive and that the additional costs were listed transparently.
- Fitness room is not 5 star level. Much too small and equipment second-rate. Although all muscle groups can be trained with the existing equipment, a few more devices and a larger room should be in there.
- Pool. Very nice outdoor pool. There are enough loungers to relax with a beautiful view. The indoor pool could be bigger though. It is unsuitable for swimming. Sufficient for children.
- the two biggest points of criticism from my point of view are: terrace with retractable roof blind. The roller blind only retracts automatically when it rains or cannot be extended. A pure sun blind. It would be nice to be able to use a retractable roof even when it rains. Second: the prices. The food and the service are top notch. But bear no relation to the prices. A somewhat expanded menu, also something more international, would do well.
Overall I would give 3 stars. The upper classification in location, service, cleanliness, facilities only reflects the detailed evaluation to a limited extent.
Service 4 stars because of the prices. Equipment only 2.

This hotel is amazing. If you're anywhere near Austria or the Bavarian Apls, I recommend that you visit this hotel at least three nights or more. We arrived by helicopter, doing a sightseeing tour prior checking in. The landing fee is €300. If you arrive by car, there is plenty of underground parking. The small lakr near the landing pad is rumored to be a bombed out house from the third Reich. The entire area is rich in WWII history. This is where the third Reich had luxury homes as well as meeting places. Nearby is the German WWII documentation center and up on the mountain is the Eagles Nest. The Documentation center is one entrance to the myriad of underground tunnels and bunkers. Some of which you can actually walk in and preview. The center is a short 10 minute walk. The hotel itself is probably build over some of the tunnels or at least very close by. The town of Berchtesgaden is a one hour walk or a €20 cab ride. Electric buses park 30 to 45 minutes for the Eagles nest. Definitely worth a visit. While in town, I recommend a visit to the salt mine. Tours are given every day. The Hotel has a beautiful lobby area, including a lounge with a woodburning fireplace. This is where you can order snacks, like dinner or variety of drinks. Unfortunately when we arrived, we didn't get to experience the two specialty restaurants. At the beginning of the week, you are limited to a standard restaurant, or the lounge, or room service. Service was top-notch. There was only one night where we didn't get turn-down service but other nights, it was perfect. Rooms are clean and have a spectacular view, if you select a room with a mountain view. The indoor-outdoor heated pool includes amazing views of the Bavarian alps. Multi lingual staff include Germany, Austria, Spain, and Croatia. All very friendly and helpful. There are lots of hiking trails around the resort. Check-in and check-out are flawless. I highly recommend this resort and think it is one of my top four favorites in Europe. Well done Kempinski !
