Hampton by Hilton Berlin City West

Berlin City Centre
We stayed at HI Berlin City West for 3 nights. Hotel is two blocks from Savignyplatz station with lots of shopping and dining options in the Ku’damm district. Kadewe is a few stops by bus. It’s also two bus stops from the Zoo station which is a major bus and train terminal. S9 takes you directly to BER if you need to catch a flight. The hotel is reasonably priced, updated modern and very clean. Typical European breakfast buffet included has lots of options like cold cuts, fresh fruits, bread, scrambled eggs, waffles, bacon, yogurts, etc. Housekeeping was done every day. The most important asset is the staff. Max L. was extremely helpful and enthusiastically helped us with all our requests. The only concern I have is we were assigned to a room on one side of the hotel which faces the train track. The train schedule is limited at night but we are light sleepers. Mary K. diligently and promptly resolved our concern about the noise and moved us to a higher floor.

Wilmersdorf
Both myself and my partner (both 22) visited Berlin for the first time for 3 days (4 nights). The hotel is easily accessible by train (closest station is Charolttenburg) or by 45 minute taxi (roughly €50-€60), and is located in a quiet side street, but very close to the city centre and main attractions. Hotel is Scandinavian themed, has a lovely peaceful atmosphere and very friendly staff, who went above and beyond to answer any questions we had. Although check-in and check-out times are displayed on Booking.com, they desk is manned 24/7 and they are very flexible. The rooms are cosy, perhaps on the smallish side, but very suitable for a couple and a place to rest in between days of exploring the city. The beds are VERY comfortable and soft; we unfortunately didn’t have a double bed, but two singles pushed together. This wasn’t an issue, but it may have been nice to have an option to provide a double duvet rather than two singles if it is a room shared by a couple. Very powerful waterfall shower. The bathroom is very modern, and is separated by sliding frosted glass partitions. This was absolutely fine for us as a couple and what we expected, as it is clearly advertised as so on Booking.com. However this may be an issue if you are sharing a room with someone in which you would like more privacy whilst using the bathroom. We didn’t pay for breakfast included, but given the option to use this service and pay at the end of our stay. Breakfast runs from early to late morning, plenty of options of hot food (bacon, eggs, sausage), pastries and breads, fresh fruit, a selection of cold meats and cheeses, yogurt, cereal and even a waffle maker! Very reasonable at €12 pp (have included an image). Overall, very happy with the stay, and feel that it is good quality for money paid — the only reason why we didn’t score this hotel at 5 stars is that we felt it could be a good addition to have a small kettle, and complimentary coffee, tea and milk in the room, to in the evenings. Recommendations: The 24 hour train tickets is only €8.80, can be bought from any station, and allows you to travel as often as possible on both the overground and underground. Download the ‘BVG Fahrinfo: Routes and Tickets’ app (yellow and black app icon). It lets you plan journeys on the overground and underground trains, see the most convenient route to get from A to B, how much the ticket will cost, and when and where the trains departs from. Take the train from Charlottenburg to Hackescher Markt- lots of lovely restaurants to eat in (especially ‘Barist’) and a lovely spot by the river to sit on deckchairs in the sun and order some drinks in ‘James-Simon-Park’ (have included an image). Really good Chinese restaurant ‘Lychee’, about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Lovely atmosphere and amazing food.

Charlottenburg
I have just returned from 4 nights at the Leonardo Berlin. I chose this hotel as it was the closest to my brothers apartment near Charlottenburg Palace. The price was extremely good value for money. Wilmersdorfer Straße is a few metres from the from door with all the shops you could want. 20 minutes walk to Charlottenburg palace or 2 stops on the underground which is a 2 minute walk. Our room was a comfort twin on the 4 floor, which was extremely clean and spacious. Tea and coffee making facilities, plus a free bottle of water on arrival. There was a an excellent selection at breakfast. Bacon , scrambled eggs and sausages most mornings. Full selection of continental cheeses, meats and salads. Pasties and breads galore. The ladies in the restaurant were extremely helpful as my mother has trouble walking, they helped her to a seat while I went and got breakfast. Overall an excellent stay and would recommend to anyone. We will be staying here again on our next trip to Berlin

I have booked this hotel - despite the very high price - only because it is in the proximity of a friend. Since I was only arrived in the evening and the reception is not long occupied, a code should be sent to me in advance. On the day of arrival, I also received two emails on this. And then another call, whether the download of the app needed worked. However, what was not told me either in one of the emails (or in the booking confirmation), or on the phone, was that this address is there twice in Berlin. I was at the wrong address late night, of course. So back to the taxi and again through Berlin. Opening worked well. However, when the apartment entered, I almost hit. It smelled after food as if I were standing directly at the fritchet room. Insupportable. Opening the windows overnight was impossible because the house is directly on the motorway. And directly directly. If I had wished to have cleaned or new towels, I should have registered by email on the previous day. It was not necessary for me during the three days. The apartment was very spacious, but little living. Insightable from all sides and through all windows from the street - like on a presentation plate. It is also tasteful if you think it's good that the bathroom is inside the living room... On the day of departure I had to leave the apartment at 11:00 a.m. At 10:45 - I had put the “Please don't disturb” sign out and was just on the toilet - just the cleaner comes in!! Totally not worth the money and a total disappointment. Never again.

I like Motel One with the location. Also the car park next to the parking house is no problem. Only breakfast I have never been in the hotel. The location is optimal, the rooms are perfect, you can be stayed both quietly and in the spine. The service has always worked, hygiene is also sensational. There many can take an example of it. I am going there regularly a few times every year.

The hotel is 10 minutes drive from Tegel Airport. The hotel is ratedc3 stars but I have some remarks about it. 1. Location is not good if you do not have a car you have to walk up to 15 minutes to buy some fruits or bread. 2. No Male workers that can help you with the luggage. Only 2 old ladies that were there. 3. Reception has no place to store your luggage so for example I was travelling with 2 big pieces of luggage and a handbag I requested to leave the luggage down with the reception and they refused as they do not have space. 4. Also I was allocated a room on the back yard where you have to move with your luggage to reach the elevator you have to climb 10 steps of stairs to reach the elevator. 5. The shower drainage was blocked and taking too much time to drain the water. 6. The room has no telephone so if you need anything you have to go down by yourself 7. There is no trash bin in the room 8. Light is old yellow type which is not good for the eyes 9. The bathroom is very tiny it was too narrow space between the sink and the wall to pass through to the shower. Not good for a fatty person. On the other side breakfast was good and fresh. The room was clean and staff was friendly.
