Jugendherberge Berlin Ostkreuz

This place is among the best of its category. It is a youth hostel and indeed many young people were there - but also elderly people and families with kids. It is a good place for family with kids - there is a quite nice playground on premise, a small play corner. Rooms are nice, beds comfortable (remember: youth hostel so do not expect hotel quality beds but still we all had good sleep). Breakfast and half-board dinner are worth their price (again: not a restaurant but decent enough to have a good meal). The lobby is very nice, receptionist were swift and professional. The rooms (obviously) have no air conditioning so sleeping after a warm summer day may not be the best here because young people chat (and smoke) below the windows and the nearby train/street can also be heard. But from ~September-May when windows are closed an excellent place where I would definitely return.
