Grimm's Potsdamer Platz

Very friendly, mid range hotel in an excellent location for easily exploring Berlin. Rooms comfortable and a nice lounge bar adjacent to the restaurant.

Few hours before our arrival we received a mail that our reservation has been cancelled (29.04.2025). When we called the hotel the man who answered was rude and dismissive and hung up the call. We were stuck at Berlin airport without a hotel to go to. I wouldn't recommend staying here even for free.

Really liked this hotel. You can catch a lot of trains from this location. Easy access to different parts of the city. The interior is a bit basic so more appropriate for a business traveler but pretty clean. Overall I’m happy with my stay. The staff were always helpful and gave me some great tips.

Paid in full when booked .On check in and check debited me full amount again, with no apology. Breakfast wait 10-25 mins every day and very poor buffet with no hot food as always empty. Booked double room and had to press hotel as put in twin.TERRIBLE

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Modern, stylish, clean and well situated. We had a corner room on the 7th floor with a small balcony patio. Room had sufficient space, nice bathroom with walk-in shower, and a comfortable bed for 2. The rooms were well insulated from noise and the AC unit was quiet. Originally we booked the room without breakfast, but after we saw what was on the offering we asked the hotel to add breakfast to our rate. The breakfast was very nice with many choices. Definitely a good hotel for a weekend visit to the city centre. We parked our car on the street as it was cheaper than the garage next door. After 18:00 on Saturday the street parking is free until Monday morning.

The hotel is places conveniently near Potsdamer Platz and you can cover all major Berlin highlights by foot from it. Parking is nearby in a public parking garage charging 20 EUR/ day amd subway is also nearby, if the need for public transportation, The nice catch is that the hotel is themed, every floor and room depicting one of the Grimm’s fairy tales. Ours was Sleeping beauty. The hotel has a small terrace on the top of the building where you can enjoy a drink in the evening. Breakfast is diverse, with a lot of cold and hot dishes. We visited during Easter, where they even had colored eggs, Osterpinze (specific Easter bread) and chocolate eggs at breakfast😍. The hotel also has a restaurant with German and international dishes. I was not too impressed about the wine options though, but this is really the only criticism I have.

I have literally zero complaints. Staff were friendly and check in/out took seconds. 10 minute walk to Potsdamer Platz. 2 subway stations within a 5 minute walk. Room was clean, water pressure amazing, loved that I had a balcony! Waterkettles available on request. Gym was small, but well equipped with a lovely view!

This may be the best reasonably priced boutique hotel in Berlin. Modernistic but warm, friendly and extremely omfortable it is located in walking distance from a lovely shopping center, the national Holocaust memorial and the Brandenburg gate. The interior design takes its inspiration from the Brothers Grimm fairytales which of course is far from politically correct. but charmingly done. Gourme breakfast. No minibars in the rooms, but then Snow White also didn't have one, did she.

Overall we enjoyed our 3 night stay here at Grimm's, all the staff were professional and polite. Our room was cute and functional, loved the balcony for fresh air. The balcony came into its own as the aircon was weak/non-existent however according to reception it was working as it should, a new eco friendly system. Not pleasant waking up in a stuffy warm room and needing to open the balcony doors to let cool air (and noise and mozzies) in. The young women who served us at our dinners were very friendly and helpful, their English was wonderful where our German was woeful. The food was fine, only comment I would make was a steak was asked to be medium rare, it came out practically blue, I couldn't finish it. Not a problem, I ate everything else on the plate and had dessert, I wasn't deprived. The location is close to parks and public transport, only a short drive to Berlin Main Station, walkable distance to the city and sites. Would we stay again? Probably not as we really didn't enjoy their air con system. We don't expect icy rooms as other nationalities do, however don't enjoy being unable to sleep because of warm rooms.
