Pension Classic

This quiet and cozy guesthouse is located really perfectly. Two minutes to the metro and bus stop, 5 minutes from the zoo, a supermarket nearby and a farm market 3 times a week. A lot of shops, Zalando outlet, etc. are not far away. The Tiergarten Park is also easily accessible. Our room overlooked the inner courtyard, it was very peaceful. The room is large and clean, cozy, with a refrigerator. A huge advantage is that there is a breakfast free of charge. It consists of several types of cheese, ham, vegetables, cornflakes, milk, tea or coffee. The most important thing for me is how much friendly the staff was, my daughter and I were welcomed as family members. This is worth a lot, especially nowadays . Thank you very much and we hope to come back again!

The whole place would benefit from a coat of paint. If the shower curtain was not contained within the shower tray, the water would run down the shower curtain, onto the floor and into the bedroom. The breakfast was below average, for example, the slices of cake were wrapped in cling film, if not eaten, they would appear the next day; no pastries. Other 3 star hotels we stayed in that week proved fresh scrambled eggs, bacon and pastries as well. The rooms' internet connection was via a booster plug, which did not work when we arrived, so we could not finalise plans for the next day. The next day, the booster problem was identified by the receptionist, who knew the booster required to be reset. We got reliable internet, but only with the room door open to the hall way. Unfortunately it turned out that the booster required resetting every day. After 7:45pm, there were no staff in the hotel, so no one to ask for advice or to reset the booster. Berlin hotels are expensive, but I don't believe this room, costing 400 euros per night, was worth it.

Excellent value for money in a central location near to bus ant tube routes. It’s basic but just the place if you’re on a budget. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s clean and well run. The breakfast was fine. There was an Italian restaurant next door and a more traditional German restaurant on the other side. We had excellent meals in both. Would happily stay there again.

Pension Classic provided what we need : spacious , clean room for the three of us with clean bathroom. It’s two floors up by stairs to hotel entrance, but stairs wide and not steep at all. We had room overlooking the Wittenbergplatz . Breakfast was decent with regularly replenished items - including good quality coffee. Few vegan items bought “next door” ( Edeka supermarket - open till late night but closed sundays) . It allowed for a good start of the day. There are many restaurants within walking distance if desired. Location was perfect: very close to subway ( across the square ) as well as approximately 500 m from the “scenic route bus 100”. We had a great week .
