Mercure Hotel Berlin City West
3.7/560 Reviews
I chose this hotel as I was touring Berlin with a friend for a few days, but he was arriving a couple of days later than me. This proved to be a great option in terms of budget, distance from the city centre and proximity to public transport. Once you come up the steps from the U-Bahn at Siemenssdamm, it’s immediately to your right. The member of staff in the reception was warm and friendly and spoke very good English as my German is not very good after studying it a little at school 25 years ago. The room was large, very clean, and well-equipped. It was too warm for me, and turning the air con down didn’t help, but the window opens very wide. The bathroom also had a bath which was a bonus. The bed is firm which I really enjoyed, but I appreciate that won’t be to everyone’s liking. I’m sure I requested the room not to be serviced but the maid had been in every day. I didn’t use the TV but the Wi-Fi was a little patchy and slow at times. There is plenty of plug sockets including one near the bed. There was a soft light on the floor lamp and a desk lamp which was great. I had the buffet breakfast one morning, which had a great and varied selection of hot and cold food, this included cereals, bread, cold meats, cheeses, eggs, sausages, fresh juice, tea, and coffee. There is a supermarket across the road open till 10 pm, which was handy to get food for dinner. Yeah, it is quiet, and felt safe. I couldn’t hear any noise from any adjacent rooms. If I’m visiting Berlin in the future on my own, I will probably stay here again.

I had a good time staying at this hotel. The staff were really nice and always there to help with a smile. My hotel room was really clean and made me feel comfortable. The bed was also really comfortable, and I slept well. Thank you to the hotel staff for being so welcoming and professional. Overall, it was a really nice stay, and I hope to come back again sometime.

Moabit
The price level of this hotel was way above the experience and our real perception. 2 nights for almost 700 eur(breakfast not included either). For that price we expected to get at least a bit of our expectations! First of all the Front staffs were not able to speak properly English specially girls ! The boys were not behaving that much friendly with the customer not even be aware of what is crm !(customer resource management ). The boy in front office staff mentioned that we have got free up grade to superior room ,even that room was awfull: Too small without any preliminary room facility ! How it is possible to up grade in a superior room without even water boiler ,nothing inside ,literally nothing . Moreover the view of this room was opened to the residential building with super close distance ! Furthermore such an unprofessional management strategy to serve people free with tea and coffee from 11.30pm!!!!!!honestly who gonna have tea or coffee at this time of the night!!!!! The receptions as I said above were not Profesional and helpful . Hey Urban Loft hotel really shame on you !!!!

Regent Berlin

We just spent 5 nights at the Regent. We booked their least expensive room and it was still fabulous. This is one of those hotels that does everything right. The hotel lobby and the rooms are elegant and yet not stuffy. The staff is totally friendly to everyone - from the business people in the breakfast rooms right on over to us traveler types in our polar fleece and REI travel pants:) Breakfast is excellent. The beds are comfortable, the sheets high quality. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are incredible. Full tub, large shower, big mirrors, good lighting. The toiletries are L’Occitane. There’s a high-end coffee maker and pods. The locations is perfect. We did a ton of walking - and in walking, I saw many of the other Berlin hotels I had considered in my research. None of the other locations is this perfect - especially for a first-time tourist to Berlin. We could walk to Museum Island in under 10 minutes. 10 minutes to the Brandenburg Gate. 10 minutes to the Checkpoint Charlie area. I cannot compliment the Regent enough. It is one of those rare hotels that just did it all right for us.

The location of the hotel is very good, with a subway/tram station next to it, and convenient transportation. There are many shopping shops nearby, and it is not far from the Haak Market. It is very convenient to eat, drink and play. The room is large, there is a hidden induction cooker, and there are kitchen utensils in the cabinet, which is very suitable for friends who want to cook for themselves. I really like the washing and care products in the room. The soap is black, which is very special.
