Vajra Boutique Hotel

This is a delightful heritage property on a quiet side road with a great view over part of Durbar Square. We had a room on the top floor with a fabulous view. The room is relatively small but has everything you might need including a kettle and a small heater. The bed was very comfortable. There is a very small attached bathroom with a good shower. The staff were exceptionally welcoming helpful and friendly and carried our bags up all the stairs. The breakfast is good and cooked to order. The street was surprisingly very quiet at night. No motorbikes and just a few stray dogs way in the distance. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

Also not to be confused with the Hotel Vajra in Kathmandu which I also review.) In Bhaktapur, we stayed at Hotel Vintage Home but went to the Vajra for dinner. It was cold in January but we greatly appreciated the view of the towering temple in Taumadi Square about 5 minutes' walk away. The food was good. The service friendly. We did not see any rooms but the building had a lovely courtyard with carved wooden balconies. The rooms also seemed to have dark carved wood doors. Very intriguing and seemingly old world.

Clean, sunny and very well located. It was a pleasure to spend 3 nights there. Bhaktapur is worthy of an overnight stay and I preferred it to Kathmandu proper. Also,Vajra runs the restaurant across the road (Baiga Vutoo) and it provided a great feed.

I recently stayed at Vajra Guest House during my visit to Bhaktapur, Nepal. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Bhaktapur Durbar Square. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and though the room was small, it was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable. One evening, we had dinner at their restaurant, and everything was delicious. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

A property at the heart of the World Heritage City of Bhaktapur, you cannot miss staying here if you go for an overnight trip there: excellent breakfast and a roof-top dinner facility overlooking Taumadi Square, which is arranged on request. Not to miss.

First, if you’re coming to Bhaktapur, you should really try to spend at least one night here. The city is at its most magical at sunrise and sunset so a day trip really doesn’t do it justice. If you’re going to stay in Bhaktapur, the Vajra guesthouse is a great place to do it. There are plenty of three star hotels that are comfortable and clean, but none of them have the team at the Vajra. The restaurant staff, the front desk, the ownership, and housekeeping all went out of their way to make sure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The location is fantastic only minutes from Terbar Square and a short walk to all the sites in medieval Bhaktapur. The restaurant is very good, too.

Wonderful space for family dinner and cosy rooms looking at durbar square. Food and service was very good and rooftop view from this place is to die for. Lots of festivals on front streets and very local feeling while staying here. Lobby area has good coffee corner with many coffee options.
