New Shiva Guest House

I stayed 3weeks at new Shiva gh with a group of friends. Naresh and family were all welcoming, warm kind heart Newari people and always there to support us whatever we needed from shopping to Ayurvedic medicine when some of us got sickness. Breakfast was beautiful. Loved masala omelet, tasty yogurt and fresh fruits. They prepared gluten-free options for us too:-) Room was clean, well decorated with Nepali items. Filtered water was free to fill your bottle or bottles of water was provided daily in room. I had hot shower everyday. Only a minute to walk into Durber Square and all shops are around, a perfect location. They shared many stories of their culture and history, so that wasn't just a stay but a life experience! Totally recommended! Thank you Naresh and family, I'll be back again:-)

Best place i could have stayed for my first time in nepal. The hotel is run by a very nice and helpful family, very comfortable and clean rooms and great breakfast. Truly a wonderful experience and i will definitely be back someday.

The location was just outside of the historic village. The host took me on a tour of the entire village with patience and offered detailed information. Everyone was accommodating and made certain of my comfort. I will return to this place.

We had the most amazing experience staying at Shiva Guest house bnb, the breakfast was incredible! You HAVE to try their special yogurt. A generational family recipe made fresh daily. The family owned business could not have been more accommodating and welcoming to our entire party. 10/10 hope I am able to stay here again in the future.

9 years ago we happened upon New Shiva guest house after researching and communicating with the family that owns it. The owners quickly became our friends and resource for navigating and understanding this magical place -Bhaktapur. The accommodations are richly decorated with local accents and handcrafted materials. Breakfast is outstanding with friendly service and tasty dishes that can accommodate dietary restrictions. The location is ideal with its close access to Durbar Square yet off the beaten path enough to be quiet. Morning sounds are a symphony of bird song, ritual bell ringing and this living museum waking up. I'm always sad to leave.

Really nice family run guest house very friendly and accomodating. Great location just outside gate to Dubar Sq easy to find on your way back. Lovely breakfast with Ju Ju (local yoghout) a must try. Good advice re local sites.

Very good experience with this nice family! Very helpful. Made us dinner as well as took us on a trip to see the old city. Would recommend to visit.

The place is a very well situated in the hart of the city. The people who run the business are very friendly and helpful. I have stay during the visit in 4 different hotels but this one was the best. Very good breakfast, big clean rooms. Recommended for friends and family
